About Lunch Box
our story
Jarod and Erin Rae, the owners of Lunchbox Fresh Market, moved to Fernie. They wanted to get away from the hectic pace of life in Calgary and raise a family in the mountains. With that factor and facing the uncertainty of the Alberta economy, the young family searched for a place to raise their young son, Nash, choosing Fernie as the perfect fit, meeting all their needs as a family-oriented town. The move to the mountains was a simple choice for the couple, with the endless opportunities, breathtaking 360 views and welcoming community.
Lunchbox has provided them with a fabulous opportunity to take advantage of Jarod's 20 years of restaurant/bar experience and Erin Rae's 10 years of similar experience. They've kept the amazing style of food that the locals and tourists love, and expanding the concept with some fresh ideas. Jarod and Erin Rae look forward to becoming active members in the community and getting to know the people of Fernie

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the healthy choice if you want vegetarian in town. I was extremely impressed with my Thai Peanut salad bowl with vermicelli noodles. I also enjoyed a capuchino smoothie to accompany my meal.
The building is super funky, bright and an upbeat energizing atmosphere. Great stop in downtown historic Fernie.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lunch box is nice little restaurant in downtown Fernie. Love the cool decor inspired by graffiti. There is no table service here but service is quick. Menu is on the wall as shown in my pictures. This is a good restaurant for wraps, soups and sandwiches. Smoothies and lemonades are awesome. Overall a good restaurant to grab a quick bite or sit on the patio in summer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Porker was awesome. It was wrapped very neatly, didn't fall apart, the pork was tasty, and the slaw was fresh and crunchy. This was my first time there, and won't be my last.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is ok, pretty good, actually. But we called ahead of time to see if they had a kids menu and high chairs, which they did. What they don't have is a change table to change your kids smelly diaper on so my wife had to lay her hoody down on the bathroom floor and change him there. Not cool. Why have high chairs and kids menu items but no change table in the washrooms? Also the door to the men's bathroom is white, but practically black near the handle where you press to open it cause it looks like it hadn't been wiped down in about 10 years. Gross.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had "the porker" wrap. Quite well done with the mix of ingredients. My partner who has gluten and dairy issues was also able to eat comfortably here. Prices are decent. Recommend trying.

Our lunch was fresh and delicious and the portion was big enough that I had to take the other half wrap to go. The service was super friendly and we will make a point to stop here on our next trip through Fernie.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little lunch spot. I had a wrap with pulled pork and noodles with lots of spinach and my friend got a bowl with rice and an amazing pineapple smoothie.
Ample seating and good decor along with friendly staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has vibrant healthy food made from scratch. They even make their own ranch sauce and chili daily which is pretty impressive to me. The food is colorful but with natural fruit and veggie colors. The scoop:
Mountain Club Wrap: tasted like an upgraded BLT with turkey, spinach, and ranch sauce.
Purpetrator Wrap: tasted like eating a turkey salad in a wrap form
Hempire Green Smoothie: tasted like health if health had a taste. Iced health.
Raspberry Ripper Smoothie: sweet, yummy fruity Smoothie.
Overall the vibes are like a Freshii but leveled up :)
