Luminous Nail Spa

I booked an appointment, and arrived 10 minutes early. however i had to wait for a whole hour before they took me in. they took me in an hour later than my appointment time, and also forgot to give me a top coat which resulted in my nails looking weird in a day. they also didn't give me the shape i asked for.

I was warned by a few co workers to not come here. But I still went to this nail salon anyways as it’s right by my work and convenient. Be prepared for your appointment to be a minimum of 30mins late. They overbook to the point that there are so many standing around waiting that they have no where to sit. I even saw some people walk out from frustration because they were waiting so long and no one even tried to acknowledge them. I got a full set acrylic nails. The guy did such a rush job they looked horrible. In between doing my nails he was also doing another person. He Didn’t even bother shaping them or filing. He obviously rushed because they had so many people waiting. I ended up having to go to another reputable nail salon 2 days later to get them fixed. I would never come here again. A waste of time and money. Don’t take so many clients if you don’t have enough staff to help them!!!!

I am sorry to have to write this review today, as it takes a lot for me to have to do one! This place has become way to over booked, double bookings to say the least. I hadnt been in there for a while, but bare in mind, my last 2-3 experiences i could start to see more and more disappointing situations come and go, so the fact that we moved out of area, and dont go in there as much, has nothing to do, since been a very consistent, regular customer when we were living in Kerrisdale. Double bookings, are huge here, in general, nice that they want to accommodate everyone, but not at the expense and lack of vices to the clients. Miscommunication, to accommodate the less time, for what has become a “zoo” in there, is another common item there. This last appointment, that i made, not a walk in, which is what threw me over the edge to state, i will not be returning and sad to say…… “I’m done”! I went in, waited half an hour to actually sit down and its only because, after washing my hands, i didnt receive any direction, after i chose my clours, i sat at the waiting couch area, as more people kept coming in and noticed, they arent taking me in on a chair?I finally stood up to say, i hope im going to be seated for my appointment, after 10 people started to come in 2’s, and “Queen bee” said oh okay go sit first chair. Needeless to say after that didnt get my full service of scaling of skin on the heels and wholw massage etc. wrong nail couor on shilac to match toes! I even said soemthing, and the technician said no no, its fine! Then also when i said wheres the whole pedi i booked for, he said oh, we are goving you the mini pedi! What the??!!!! Thats not what i booked for. This place has lost its touch and customer service of the “whole experience” its like a drama theater in there. Not impressed. Im sorry since i know these guys work hard and dont take any breaks and try snd get in as many clients as possible. For me, i go to relax and have the full experience and have the correct colours done and services to pay for as its a rare event, after our move out of Kerrisdale to frequent there! Book the first app, Or be ademenant when you are there for them to give you what you asked for your given time. It seems like the acrylic nails or if you are just getting a pedicure it is okay, but even that for me today was very, very disappointing! Good luck and hope they can survive a bery demanding area and services with time restraint and volume of clientele.

Luminous nail spa has a great selection of nail polish colors - I love lilacs and they have the most range of lilacs I’ve seen in a nail salon. My nail tech took his time with my nail design to make sure it looked perfect. Left the nail salon very happy and satisfied. Would recommend!

Made an appointment at 5:50pm. They told me to come at 6:45 for a pedicure which starts at 7pm as they are packed with a party of 8 - 10 people who are chatting and drinking wine. There are other clients outside of this party as well. It’s honestly the worst experience ever and my pedicure has just begun! If you are having large groups socializing, drinking and getting services - why are you booking me in? So unprofessional. My lady is trying her Best To help me but she’s having to take care of other clients etc. I normally come around 11-2 during the day and have had great experiences. The worst experience ever today They have zero respect for my time because they are completely overbooked! A complete nightmare to say the least!

This annoys me so much ! You do a really good job of the nail other than the obvious gap you leave between the cuticles and the acrylic so that I have to come in sooner? This is what they usually look like maybe 4 days after not 30min. Like come on...

Had gel removal and gel manicure done by Van, and I am more than satisfied. Her work was clean, quick and not rough! The service in combination with price surpassed other local shops at the same price point. Will be coming back.

I was really surprised by the quality of the service and the price. I was doing my nails in another salon in Kerrisdale and was paying 10 dollars more than what Luminous Nails charges and was never happy with the results. This sweet guy - I didn’t ask his name! - did my nails today and it was perfect, please send my thanks to him. I’ll be back for sure.
