So Loyalty One (Air Miles) appears to be relying on Canpar for the products it forces you to get (prior to the 2016 points-redemption walk-back). Does that add insult to injury? You bet, Canpar's customer service is a big fat head-ache, but I could have guessed this would happen.

Update: They did in fact reimburse some of my miles while letting me keep the existing miles so fairly happy now. Screwed me on my Miles. They do not have warnings or disclaimers regarding not being able to transfer miles and get transactions messed up constantly. BUYER BEWARE

To the same degree that this is on the surface a very special place - like you are entering Google's offices - - it sends the wrong message to people using their loyalty platform. The message quickly moves from awe to what an extravagant waste at the expense of the users of the platform. The answers to why their loyalty platform has lost the hearts and minds of consumers is evident that the benefits are all going to the management and staff at the expense of their user base. If they survive or not will be answered by their users and as they have much stronger competitors - I wouldn't bet on them turning the ship around.

Airmiles (LoyaltyOne) has to be the worst loyalty program. First collecting miles takes forever given the spend, website for redemption needs serious work, called to cancel my account - waited, prompted for call back - call back happened with a "we can't call you back due to high volume of calls" - ok no problem you can reschedule - put in day of week and time - that time is not available let me find you the next available time - "undefined, undefined undefined" - does this work - press 1 for yes - ok press 1 - sorry we can't call you back - huh? you gave me the time - tried again - automatically disconnected. Let me not even discuss the security required to access an account - 4 digit PIN - really? BTW I recorded the automated callback if anyone is interested.
