THIEVES-- I sent a full estate worth of antiques and collectibles- a full 15' trucks worth. I didn't even receive proper receipts of things sold..just hand written amounts. Was guaranteed X amount of dollars on a few items which never happened. THEN I had to keep calling about items that were missing. I RECEIVED LESS THEN $2000 FOR IT ALL. UPDATE--- just found out another person got ripped off here. BEWARE

I have bought several stuff here , with the auction fees, it is not really a bargain especially when the items are defective, parts are missing or electronics do not work. I do not think they are shady, Ijust think some of the items especially electronics could be junk. If you're not saving up to 40% of the market value, it may not be worth it.

I’ve been purchasing from 5 auctions here over the course of the past year, all Amazon ones. They’re a bit disorganized sometimes with the sheer amount of items they’re pushing, but its been improving a lot since I first started bidding. Friendly and accommodating staff. Shout outs to Kyle and Gail. I see a lot of people complaining about the Amazon auctions. Remember that these are Amazon RETURNS. I don’t understand why people are bidding on these items as if they were brand new and then complaining when something doesn’t work. This isn’t the fault of the auctioneers, it’s the scummy people that buy things, switch them out for another item, and then return it to Amazon for a full refund. Several times I’ve seen people bid ridiculous amounts on items like monitors that have clear pictures of cracked screens and descriptions stating such. Do these folks even understand what they’re bidding on? I suspect some of the 1 star reviews are people like this. Some advice to the auctioneers: cracked monitors and TVs are junk, not worth the trouble to sell. The only time that might be an exception is with laptops or devices that are more than just a screen (and therefore might be worth repairing) You can get bargain prices but sometimes they will be duds. That’s the nature of the game. Do your own due diligence. That’s why there are viewing times, so use them. With the massive amount of inventory it’s really not feasible for them to check that every item is in good working condition. That being said, they’ve been more focused on testing a lot more, especially electronics, so I expect that this will also improve.

I highly recommend going to the warehouse and viewing the lots before bidding online. The pictures and descriptions for the auctions can be somewhat lacking. The warehouse isn't the most glamorous place; it's a bit cluttered, and all small items are locked in cages (understandably) making many of them hard to properly see. Not everything was clearly on display, but there were a couple staff around who were willing to help dig up the auction items I wanted to see before bidding on them. Every time I check things out before I bid, I decide to bid on items I previously wouldn't have, and also not bidding on things that I planned to. Covid protocols all followed.

This is an unaffordable option for an auction. They have an exceptionally high buyers premium - 23%, and they ship through the UPS Store, which is not mentioned in their auction catalogue. Catalogue also did not disclose damage to 4 out of 8 items in the lot that I purchased through the description or pictures.

Loves auctions is one of the better auction houses in the lower mainland. All their auctions are online now due to COVID and that hasn't been rescinded yet. They have preauction visitation for item viewing but they still have COVID protocols in place. And never forget that they still charge taxes and a 20%+ admin fee on top of your bid. It can add up quickly if you forget the math and bid a little too enthusiastically! The staff are awesome and work as fast as they can to bring out your items. The online ordering system works very well and is simple to setup and use. One of the easiest bidding systems I've ever used.
