Lizard Creek Lodge - Lizardcreek.com

Lizard Creek Lodge is in the perfect ski-in/ski-out (or bike-in/bike-out) position at Fernie Alpine Resort. The outdoor pool and hot tubs overlook the mountains, and there is even a gentle run that cruises past the hotel. There are 14 units in the main lodge and 85 residential-style condominiums in two other buildings.

Each of our luxurious suites has differing configurations. Studio, one, two and three-bedroom suites offer full kitchens, a fireplace in the lounge and a private balcony. You’ll enjoy coming home and putting your feet up after a great day on the hill.

The decor and ambience of our 4.5-star property are described as ‘mountain chic.’ Distinguished by its private setting on Highline Drive, we offer the only full-service property on the mountain. If you are looking for more than just accommodation, we can provide you and your family with the ultimate resort experience.

Our stay was good. We had to call and ask for quite a few things as our room slept 8 and there were only 4 towels and not enough coffee mugs and other random things. But staff were quick to grab us everything we requested. The beds were very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were nice and relaxing. Never did try out the bar/restaurant though. Having an underground parking spot was a nice bonus.

Wonderful time at Lizard Creek! Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. Couldn’t get a Saturday reservation at the pool at first but they contacted us when one became available. Ski valet was awesome. Let us park all day on the day we checked out. Much better than our stay at Snow Creek last year, thank you!

Standard condo rooms. Minimalist housekeeping - toilet paper, kleenex, batteries in remote, broken lamp. Views are good.

Scenic but horrible customer service, no restaurant as it’s closed, no pool -closed and no help as the receptionist actually got mad at us for complaining we wanted a refund.

Great location and views, pool and hot tub are great, and our room was very nice/spacious but dated. We've only been here one day but the major issue was the inexplicable check in process. Hands down the worst I've experienced, even when comparing to a 1 or 2 star property. Such condescending behavior for absolutely no reason.Β  One example was that WE had to initiate the conversation when we walked in, absolutely no welcome whatsoever, didn't even get up from the seat...made to feel completely like we were a burden...and again that's just walking in the property for the first time, in a town we've never visited and so excited to see. The simple ask of where to park got us a point of a finger to the map and nothing else, no words, as though they were speaking to someone who couldn't understand. When calling the property just 2 weeks prior, weΒ  were told we would have our 3 rooms (there are 12 of us) near each other in the same building.Β  When we arrived though, we were told that could not be accommodated and another party got the room. Knowing that this was clearly something we were expecting (we had a lot of groceries so that we could all make and have breakfast/lunch together) all that was said was that nothing could be done as the computer booked another party in, and that no one should have told us that the rooms would be together as they can't guarantee that.Β  Again, knowing this was something we were expecting, there was not one attempt at figuring something else out, such as maybe move the 1 family into where the other 2 would be but in a different room type; not one attempt or let me see what I can try and do whatsoever. Not only that, when the family member who's room was now in another bldg tried to speak, they were continuously interrupted AS they were speaking with "I heard you, but there's nothing we can do", on 3 to 4 attempts, and didn't even let the person finish speaking. A couple of small but very inconvenient things were that 2 of 3 TVs in our room don't have remotes to turn them on...so even if youget up to turn on the TV, there's no way to control volume.Β  Secondly there is a night stand with a lamp on it, but no plug in for it; or for any device you may want to plug in and charge. Hopefully the rest of the week goes smoothly, as we are all now very uncomfortable and wary going to ask the front desk for anything.

I keep getting confirmations for the spa service I’ve never booked. They have my personal info on the confirmation for some reason, so I called to ask what’s happening. The Lady at the front desk Tina was very rude and impatient. When she asked me for my phone number I said it 97-06-097 instead of 970-6097. She could not catch it which made her very mad. She said that β€œwe- in CANADA” do it another way. That sounded kind of racist, so I decided not to continue this conversation.

Great lodge for ski in ski out. The check in and check out times are inconvenient and the hot tub is only 98 degrees and jets did not work. Needs to be warmer!
