Lisa received her Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction in 2004 from the University of Northern British Columbia and later obtained her Certified General Accountant Designation. Lisa went on to obtain her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Calgary in 2009 where she received numerous academic scholarships and was on the Dean’s List Standing in her 2nd and 3rd year. While in law school, Lisa worked as an Appeals Officer for the Canada Revenue Agency and later with TransCanada Corporation. Lisa was an assistant to Professor Catherine Brown at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law where she updated the text Taxation and Estate Planning and assisted in preparing the Canada Chapter on Trusts for the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation.

In 2009, Lisa Clerked for the Tax Court of Canada. Lisa began her career at various leading firms focusing on tax litigation matters. Lisa has acted as counsel before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Tax Court of Canada. Lisa obtained her Trusts and Estate Professional (TEP) Designation in 2015.
