I had a broken 2000$ computer. I gave the nice man 100$. I have a functional 2000$ computer. These nerds are charming and know their stuff. 10/10, I would take my toaster there if they let me. Thanks again boys.

I am very appreciative for the advise received from Riley about my problems with my iPhone 6S.. A battery replacement was diagnosed and good advises where given to me and my partner who experiment a similar problem with a iPhone 6.....

My dad phoned in and was quoted $80 for a replacement iPhone 6 battery. That was apparently the cost plus labour. When I drove up to Sechelt, I was told that the cost would actually be $160. When I asked the guy why it was all of a sudden $160 in stead of the $80 my dad was quoted on the phone, he said that the guy my dad had spoken with just told him that price “ off the top of his head “. Not impressed. I live in Gibsons and was on limited time because of work. I didn’t have all the time in the world. This business gives unreliable quotes and comes off as rather shady. If you are going to quote someone, make sure it’s the right amount to quote. I basically wasted time and gas driving up to Sechelt to be told a much higher price than originally quoted. Will be cautious with this business from now on and I suggest others do as well.

I have known John Lavery since he started his computer business on the Coast. He has shown incredible patience in helping me with my many problems over the years and I have watched his business grow very successfully. This latest mess I got myself into has really tried the patience of everyone at Lavtech and they have managed to clear it up for me extremely patiently. l have now decided that it is time to let people know how much I respect John and his very busy company. John and his team were extremely helpful in meeting my laptop repair needs. The Apple team in the USA referred me to his Sechelt office, from Powell River, when they were unable to address my problem via a one-hour long-distance phone call. I travelled to Sechelt and left my computer with his team; he personally returned it to me (via ferry) about a week later. I was very stressed about an apparent hard-drive failure and the team were most patient with my frantic calls. Turned out to be a less disabling problem than expected; whew! I recommend this company and thank them for their expertise.

Staff seems pretty nice but pricing model is rather expensive. Cheaper alternatives on the coast but, overall if your local its not a bad shop. Met an employee named Marc, he was pretty nice guy.

I have been in twice. Once because an iPhone required a system upgrade that I was unable to do at home, the result? Done! Quickly efficiently and at no cost. The second time I was also helped to resolve an issue that ended up costing me nothing. Lavtech has been very helpful and I consider them my go to for IT issues. So far they have cost me absolutely nothing. Thank you!

Was told $20 to reset phone. When we hit a trouble shoot spot with the process, I was told to go away and call Apple care support & figure that part out on my own! Otherwise they would have to charge me more to help! Ths phone was not yet reset or useable! I was told if I wanted help with that part of the reset, I would be charged MORE, unless I wanted to figure that part out on my own & come back!. I was told we had gone over the time amount for the $20 reset, even though it wasn’t completed for the amount I was quoted. I was told I’d be charged for a half hour on top of the reset. My phone at this point had been partially reset but was still not usable... and that was the whole point of having it reset. I am not tech savvy and that is why I agreed to hire lav tech to reset the phone for $20, as I had tried without success yesterday to reset it myself with Apple care support over the phone. When the partial reset was completed at lav tech, after I called Apple support from my personal cell while in the store & the lave tech employee answered one or two questions, the phone was reset. It took a few extra minutes but not half an hour. I was charged $57 dollars to reset my phone when I was initially told $20 for a phone reset. I was .not told $20 for a partial phone reset! Once we hit a roadblock in the reset process, I was told I’d have to pay more and didn’t feel like I had any choice. I felt like I was being extorted from. When you quote a price to complete a specific task that’s exactly what you should do. I felt stuck and like I had no choice but to pay or I would’ve left with an unuseable phone. I left feeling like I had been completely taken advantage of and rooked for an extra $37. This is certainly not how you create goodwill for a small business in a small community. When I addressed the price with employee and told him the amount was more than double what he’d initially quoted me he said I didn’t charge you for the $20 reset, I just charged you for 1/2 an hour! Like he had done me some favour!?! So at this point he was basically saying he could have charged me $77! To reset a phone he quoted me $20 to reset. Shady. I won’t return to this establishment again, no trust in them, not after being treated like that or spoken to that way, never again. ?? Two Thumbs down from me.
