0 stars. After purchasing a family ring, 2 different stones looked the same. So my mum (the one the ring one bought for), brought it in to see what they can do. The jeweler checked and they were in fact different, but no difference could be seen. Even after she went to pick it up, the sales associate also said she could not see a difference. The sales person said she'd talk to the owner to figure it out. great! not great. The owner called my mum and asked if she would like it replaced and my mum said she would just like "the right one in there". When my mum came to pick it up, the stone in there was way too blue and not actually a March stone because, in Karen's words, "you weren't happy with the March stone that was in there". Karen then went on to accuse my mum of saying that she okayed the replacement they did (not actually a march stone), when she didnt actually ok it. Karen also called me when she couldn't get ahold of my mum, and I told her DO NOT REPLACE IT. They charged her 70 bucks over their mistake. They also never let her know when it was ready to be picked up. When my mum went to pay and pick up her ring, Karen actually slapped down two wrapped Christmas gifts (the cheap ones that give to customers with their orders) and said, "There! Hope that makes you feel better" we now have the wrong march stone because they refuse to fix their mistake and needless to say, we won't be back.

I purchased a diamond necklace from this store about a week ago and to my surprise when I gave it to my girlfriend, the latch was broken. So I went in and asked if I could get a new one and they had me wait for the boss to call me to see about it getting replaced. Well it got replaced and guess what??? The replacement was broken as well...

Whether a customer is spending $1000 or $100 they should all be treated with the same respect. After LA Gold lost my engagement ring that had been in for repairs (and I was picking it up on my first wedding anniversary by the way), treating me as if losing my most prized possession wasn’t a big concern, accusing me of overreacting, pretending that my communication with them hadn’t happened, the manager berating me over the phone and accusing me of “just trying to get free jewelry repairs”, and refusing to apologize for putting me through the whole ordeal in the first place...I can confidently say that I will never step foot in this store again. Thankfully they ended up finding my ring 3 days later and I was able to pick it up and pay for the repair, but the damage had been done. I spent my anniversary weekend anxious and upset and I have never experienced such horrendous customer “service” in my life. Please think twice before purchasing anything from LA Gold or having your jewelry repaired there - unless you want to risk them misplacing it and treating you terribly afterwards.

The owner is absolutely.... terrible with customers. My fiancé went in, admittedly not knowing much about jewellery... hence seeking advice from “professionals”. The staff member working (while doing her best) did not give great advice, I do not blame her, I blame her lack of training. I picked and provided photos to my fiancé of an aquamarine ring, very inexpensive from what I found online ($ value is not important to me which is why I picked this).She could not find what he was looking for so brought out the custom catalogue. In it was a very beautiful ring... better than what I would have picked and much pricier too... failed to mention the way the setting was you COULD NOT get a wedding band to sit beside it, it was not meant to be an engagement ring. Was told it would be 4 weeks to get it in. He paid half, thought it would be on its way. He gets a call the following week, she quoted him in American, it’s gonna be more money, he says go ahead anyway. A few weeks go by, the owner was on Vacation... it only got ordered when she got back, no communication of this. When I finally called to find out what was going on she blamed my fiancé for taking too long to decide if he “wanted to spend the extra money”... what? He told you yes right away.... and paid half the day he ordered it!?!? Time for the wedding band purchase... guess what, you can ONLY get a custom band made by the same company to fit it. It was going to cost the same amount as the engagement ring.... ummm no. This is ridiculous. The owner did not feel bad at all that they did not give sound advice and kept insisting “your fiancé got you a beautiful ring”, yes, yes he did.... BUT you did not give him ANY advice as to how much of a headache this beautiful ring is going to cost. I was unwilling to spend another $3000 for a wedding band, so now I have gotten my band from somewhere else and will wear my engagement ring on another finger. Fast forward to yesterday... I go in to get my marriage licence (which with all the hassle of the ring being late and not finding a wedding band that would work one of the staff members told me I would get -no charge but I had to come back within 3 months of the wedding)... the owner is there. Tells me no, it’s only included if you buy all 3 rings with us, to which I replied, well there’s no way we were buying anything else from you. She looks at me and says “well why are you here, you only come into my store to yell at me”, “Yell? Who’s yelling”, “well your attitude isn’t happy”, no, but I certainly was not yelling at her with my son by my side. She went on about how she’s too old to be dealing with people “like me” and that none of her staff would not have ever said that the marriage licence was included. I said, right because you’re all perfect and make zero mistakes... she said “that’s right, we don’t!” Say what? There were MANY mistakes made with our transaction... between me and my fiancé we will shout from the highest hills to never support this business. She is one of a kind... and don’t forget... too old to be dealing with “people like us”. Just finished reading other reviews, guess I’m not the only one Karen has been disrespectful too... just read her responses! Karen, I read your response. You taking advantage of my fiancé to get a sale, and then accusing me of yelling at you in front of my son... I feel sorry for YOU, your business won’t last long if you treat people that poorly! If you read my other reviews I have a lot of great relationships with other businesses. Not every one of your customers will be happy, your staff are NOT perfect but it’s about how you fix it and you had zero empathy. In a business that deals with people’s happiest moments you would think you’d be slightly more accommodating.

Be wary of the “crystals” in this shop. My boyfriend was told that the stones in a ring were crystals, not CZ (cubic zirconia). When he picked up the ring he noticed that the tag clearly stated that the stones were in-fact CZ

If I could I would give 0 stars. I’ve been in there looking for various things with money in my pocket. Every time I’ve been very underwhelmed. Recently I went in there with a simple question and the customer service was terrible. We were treated rudely and like it was a huge deal just to answer a few questions. I definitely will not be even walking back in the store. I’m so happy I spent my hard earned thousands of dollars at appelts in Morden.
