I have a simple rule for mexican food outside of Mexico; if they have a ton of sugar skulls and dia de los muertos decor everywhere: stay away. Well, rules are meant to be broken, and I'm pleased to report that this place is a clear exception to the rule. These are solid, athentic tacos. The Al Pastor is excellent, and the Carne Asada was solid. The burritos are really good too, if you're in the mood for something a little more tex-mex. The staff was friendly and service was fast. Price was a bit high, but by Vancouver standards pretty cheap. I want to mention that if you're used to excellent Mexican food and you're just visiting Vancouver, this place probably won't knock your socks off, but you won't be disappointed; especially at this price! It's good, authentic, and reasonably priced (for the city). If you've never had authentic Mexican tacos, you could do SO MUCH WORSE than this little gem. I've had some pretty terrible Mexican in Vancouver. In fact, most of it has been pretty mediocre or outright terrible, and terribly inauthentic. I think spots like this one deserve more shine.

ordered a chicken quesadilla... got a tortilla with cheese in it, that's it. No condiments, no chicken, no sour cream... Also ordered 4 tacos and got 3. Ridiculous.

Went here for the first time with my buddy as we try all the taco places in the city. He had the Pastor, Carnitas, Cachete, and Picadillo tacos while I had a Pastor Burrito. We both agreed that they were the best we've had so far. Portion sizes were fair and the prices were in line with other taco places. Alejandro gave us fantastic service and was an absolute pleasure.

The BEST authentic Mexican tacos in Vancouver! Alejandro offered fast and friendly service, even while managing on his own on a busy Friday - making friends with every customer in the place. Five stars all around.

Best tacos I've had in a very, very long time and that is saying a lot because I love Latin food and have tried pretty much every spot you can go to. Shout out to the Latin dude running the spot, super nice and made my wife and I feel very welcome at the tiny spot and even went out of his way to get my wife a chair so we could sit together. Would 100% recommend!!

These are some good tacos but quite expensive for what it is at $4.5. My friend said it's authentic so I'll take her words for it. There are also burritos that is not listed on the menu which are much better value.

Best tacos I’ve had in the city ! A must have whenever I’m in the west end - the friendly service always compliments the amazing food, and I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu :)

I would give it 0 stars if I could. Aside from the fact that the food was subpar, and that I received an incorrect amount of Tacos; the man running the store called the cops on me when I went to make a claim about my order. I won't even focus my review around the health hazards, as I seen him process payments and then go cook without washing his hands or wearing gloves (I will attach a picture). I had to request he put on gloves for my order because he was touching the till, receiving change, and still proceeded to go prepare food. Now, about my experience... I approached him calmly, and explained that I was very dissatisfied, and that the order was incomplete. I wanted to have my order corrected, or to receive a partial refund. There was no attempt to resolve the issue or to even hear me out, the man instantly said he would call the police. I was not asked to leave the store, I was not asked for anything... there was no communication, just an immediate threat. I couldn't bother to stick around for the cops, I have better things to do with my time, but it's clear this was an intimidation tactic at best - since there is absolutely zero grounds for calling the cops on me... I never even raised my voice. I strongly urge you to avoid supporting this type of business. Bad food is one thing, but what this man did is unacceptable. Our conversation made it clear that he is not a store owner, since he said he doesn't set the prices... so, if the owners are reading this; I would hire someone that actually cares about your business.
