L'oree des Bois Motel

Very bad customer service at the front desk. I made a reservation specifically stating I needed a pet friendly room. Was told the dog friendly room was available and I could reserve it for the evening no problem only to show up and have the front desk tell me the room was taken. Maybe don’t give away rooms people have booked.

My wife and I were travelling from Alberta to Nova Scotia, unfortunately we broke down right outside of longlac. We came to the motel and we happened to meet Clarke, the motel owner and manager. AMAZING person! Not only did he give us the room for the night for free, he took us to get spare parts that we needed for the fix! Further more he and his companions had made us dinner! I have never met such an amazing group of people before in my life. He had made our misfortune a fun adventure and made us laugh often! They even accommodated for my dog! The room was comfortable and clean, my wife and I got some much needed rest after the long two days of driving. Looking for a rest on a long drive let me tell you, this is the place, great people make a huge difference. My wife and I will for ever be greatfull to the amazing hospitality. And we will always have the “Quantum Entanglement”

Barely a motel. Don’t bother calling a head to book a room because they don’t care that much. If your lucky to show up and get a clean room you will be lucky. Cleaner to sleep in your car. Coffee machine no coffee or anything. No bar soap. Just shampoo packets. Towels need to be replaced. Oh they did have hot water thank goodness!

Do not stay here unless you have too. No one is ever at the front desk. They don't change the bed covers in between guests. No ac and over priced. The people are rude. I made reservations for us including a dog and was told a price.. when we got there he asked for double and said if I don't what it I can leave. We were 12 hours from home and he knew that and took advantage of us. Ps. If you stay here make sure they change your bed coverings

Ugh where to start? Well it was cheap, but room stunk like mold like disgusting floors don’t look like they’ve been vacuumed in over a month bedding was ripped ? there was a keurig but no cups or coffee, one lamp didn’t even work because it was missing the piece to turn it on… ??‍♀️ The screen door didn’t even have an inner handle when I went there at 6am to checkout no one was even there… also you get stained yellow towels if you wanna shower that are raggedy and gross the water also gross…. And then we were laying on bed when some guy was knocking on our door real late trying to say my cars lights were flashing then asked my husband for money…. Like no buddy you were trying to see if you could break in my car… awful place don’t recommend. Beds were the most uncomfortable ones all across Canada.

I had to setup my google account just to write this review, if you have any thought of going to this place I cannot stress this enough DO NOT. Me and my parents stayed here late august on a road trip. Upon arrival my dad goes to check us into 2 rooms. As my dad goes to pay for the 2 rooms the guy at the desk secretly tries to charge us double for the 2 rooms (over $400 more than what we were supposed to pay) my dad catches onto this 5 minutes after payment and goes back to speak to the guy at the desk. The guy at the desk assures my dad that the $400 will be refunded that night. To this day (April 2022) there has been no sign of any refund. We actually went to follow up on this but there was nobody working the desk from 8pm all the way until the time we left the next morning. The quality of the rooms were some of the worst I’ve ever been in, you could tell absolutely nothing was cleaned from the person before, multiple toenail clippings in both beds aswell as tons of bugs all over the place… I counted at least 15 spiders along the walls. I guarantee the blankets on the bed weren’t washed and were just fitted back on the bed after the person before, it makes me wonder if the people who wrote the couple good reviews are ether blind or if they just work for the place. one of the chairs were broken and the whole room smelled terrible, the whole place was disgusting I’d much rather have slept in the truck. I waited a few months to write this cause I thought maybe something would come from them literally stealing $400 from us but no. In conclusion nothing from this hotel deserves even a 1 star review… I’d give it 0 if I had the option… if the owners ever read this we still want our $400 back and I will continue to tell everyone We can to never step foot in this place. Every review you delete is more that I’ll keep posting.

Clark was Amazing!! By far the Best service and motel we have stayed in across Canada! It is so amazing to see someone take such pride in thier establishment!! Super clean, super comfy! We will be back!!!

We were very happy with the cleanliness of our room as well as the room rate. Very reasonable. While I was outside getting luggage the owner (Clark) came out and asked me how we liked our room and we chatted for 10 minutes. That was a great personal touch. The motel was clean, comfortable and quiet. I would definitely stay again if I'm traveling through the area.
