We are very happy with our new bathroom. Throughout the consultation process, Adam took the time to understand what we wanted and recommended materials that really suited our needs and taste. The installation was well done and professional. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kitchens & Bathrooms First. It was a very positive renovation experience.

We were very disappointed. When we made an appointment for an “In-Store Consultation”, we explained that we wanted to redo our bathroom. We went to their showroom to speak with one of their designers to discuss the scope of our renovation project; we brought measurements and photos of our bathroom to help illustrate the scope of our project. The “design consultant” was not very attentive. Even after telling him several times that changing the sink was imperative, about 45 minutes into the consultation, he said, “Oh, so you are not keeping the sink”. We walked out shortly after that since we could tell he was not interested in helping us. We drove straight to a box-store home store without an appointment and the young employee there was very helpful and gave us more advice and information in 10 minutes than the hour we wasted at Kitchen and Bathrooms First.

We had Kitchens & Bathrooms First renovate our kitchen & family room in July 2014. We are very happy with the experience and the final product is awesome. The total project went very smoothly from the initial planning to the expert installation. The expertise of the staff from Bob to Sloan, Joe and the installers, Archie and Victor was first class. Materials & workmanship are excellent. We had previously had a powder room renovated by this company and will contract them to do our main bathroom in the very near future. My wife & I are very pleased with our dealings with the company and will not hesitate to use them again.

We had our main bathroom designed and renovated by Kitchens and Bathrooms first in November. We are so happy with how everything went! They were accommodating of our budget, suggested designs but were not too pushy (highly recommend designer Cassandra), coordinated all of the trades to come in a timely manner, and we ended up with a beautiful bathroom that we are very happy with. Their communication was great, and we had confidence in hiring them throughout the whole process. The renovation itself only took two weeks and despite finding some issues behind the walls they worked with us to make sure we were getting what we wanted. I highly recommend Kitchens and Bathrooms First for anyone looking for a bathroom renovation!! It was stressfree, timely and very high quality!

We recently contracted Kitchens and Bathrooms First for a full renovation of our main bathroom. We obtained estimates from a variety of sources including both individual contractors and companies. We found this company, with Adam's assistance, to be not only competitive in pricing for the work and the supplies but also very professional in their dealings with us. From the very beginning they assisted with the design as well as the choice of materials and completed the work in a timely fashion (9 days). Within this time frame they also refreshed the lower bathroom by replacing the sink, lighting and medicine cabinet. Although the latter job was minor work, I feel like I have 2 new bathrooms. Once the work was completed, Jeff returned on 2 occasions to address and correct minor issues, always with a smile and with professionalism. I wanted to add a sauna and bathroom to my basement and had some ideas in my head of how to do it/lay things out......thankfully I spoke to these guys first as my original plan wouldn't have worked and would have cost me a lot of money in alterations. They took the time to sit down with me and explain what I needed to do, and clearly had enough experience to visualize what I wanted without even seeing my basement. I bought the majority of the items from them (tiles, shower, shower enclosure, vanity unit and faucet) had they sold saunas I probably would have bought that from them as well! Quality costs, but quality lasts and is appreciated by everyone who has commented on my finished project. I did seriously consider using them to do the work......but I like a challenge and I learnt a few tips along the way. Helpful, polite and not at all pushy with their products - take a look around at their competition but if you want honest answers, something that will last and competitive prices........then perhaps you should go to Kitchens and Bathrooms........first!

From the very beginning when I met Jose, I knew he was the type of detail oriented professional that I needed to redo my ensuite bathrooms! I was in the process of purchasing a new home, but required an engineer's expertise to determine if I could combine two bathrooms upstairs to make a large master ensuite. He was so patient and explained to me all the considerations which I truly appreciated because I also enjoy learning new things in life. He was there for about an hour (longer than any of the other contractors), and then later came back to give me an update because he even went outside in the rain to examine other soffits, vents, and structures on the roof! I was so impressed with his dedication! Nonetheless, I did not purchase this house, but the home that I ended up with had very similar issues. Now I knew this time it would be K&B that I would go with! We took down the wall in between 2 bathrooms and made this modern-glam ensuite, please see pix! I knew the overall layout and grey/gold look that I wanted, but Jessie was so helpful in guiding me with her design expertise! We were able to pick out most materials in just one day, with updates later along the way, and I loved her 3D designs that truly put together the project. Now I should also mention that we had a side job of doing a wardrobe/closet for my shoes and bags, which was our favourite part of the project and also impressed Matt! Matt is the master construction person who was so courteous, detail-oriented, and always cleaned up everyday! Runners were applied on floors and he would vacuum at the end of the day. There was minimal dust and all other parts of the home were spotless. The only thing is that there were some delays in shipment and the total time from consultation to job completion took 4 months. Overall, this is a phenomenal team that always provided honest advice and expectations! THANK YOU!

If you are reading these reviews you must be on your way to begin a kitchen or bathroom renovation. Over the last 30 years or so we have gone through many renovations and have used some of the big name renovators in Ottawa. Within the last month we have had two bathrooms renovated by Kitchens & Bathrooms First and these have been our most stress free and successful renovations of them all. The main bathroom was a complete back to the studs project while the powder room on the main floor was a more precise and intricate day surgery. We removed the existing counter and molded sink and inserted on top of the old cabinet a new counter and vessel sink that had to fit into the existing tiles with no damage. What sets Kitchens & Bathrooms apart from many of the others? Here is our list in point form: - from our first encounter in the showroom to the last day on the job the entire process was calm and professional. This covers the entire team. - since everyone involved was knowledgeable there was always a focus on practical and workable ideas. You can certainly go crazy and push the limits but in the end the team will point out the best options. - you will not be up sold or oversold. If you have preferences they will be researched for you.Options are presented but you make the decisions. We all agreed that we should keep our existing sink taps as they were not that old.The door between the two sections of the main bathroom had always swung the wrong way. Rather than a new door set they simply reversed the swing and patched up the old holes and you could never tell it had been altered. Looks brand new. - Kitchens & Bathrooms First has seen a lot of projects. In the first meeting they will listen to your ideas , what you want to achieve and what colours you are looking for. In our second meeting we were presented with all the tile selections and even the paint colour. The choices were far more aggressive than we would have selected on our own. We had suggested at that first meeting that we were looking for a bit of a 'wow' effect. After much thought and taking samples home we went with their suggestions. We did ask them to use a brand of plumbing fixtures we had used previously. We are thrilled with it all. - in the end it all comes down to the installation and the quality of the final product. Every aspect of the installation was planned carefully and thought through. Options were discussed on site. The tile work was absolutely done perfectly. Work site was clean at the end of each day. Painting and trim were 100%. Could not be any better. - your renovation will be planned, managed and controlled. When your job starts it will be finished as planned. As we said above - calm and professional. The final results in both rooms makes us smile every time we enter. Our recommendation is that you spend some time with Kitchens & Bathrooms First. Their showroom has more than enough on display to get you started on your journey and the entire team will give you the confidence that the results will exceed your expectations. -
