Kids & Company - Edmonton

My daughter is 4 and she went there for preschool but it would be mistake to call it preschool it is mostly just a daycare. They barely learn new things. It is mostly free play time. They have open door bathroom policy which means kids all see each other when one of them is in the toilet. Isnt it privacy violation? I told them i was teaching my kid privacy and she needs to close the door and the manager said she will come with a solution by the end of the week but nothing has been done. Also most of the time my daughter came home starving. I was bringing food with me so she can eat some in car. And when i mentioned this they said they cant force kids to eat. And one day her lips were so dry and i asked didnt she have any water? And she said she asked for it but she couldn't get and I checked with teacher and she said there was a construction in the building so they couldnt use the waters. So my poor kid couldnt drink a sip of water all day and she was dehydrated.It is the worst worst worst daycare/ school i've ever seen. Only good thing teacher Rose is nice.

So disappointing. I enroll my kids in this daycare because was on front of the school. This was July 2019, Chloe, the director email me the prices and how much it will be starting on September after the yearly price adjustment and summer break time. On September, the amount withdraw from my account was higher that agreed so I asked what happened. By that time, the director was Tam and she asked me for the emails. I sent all the emails exchanged with Chloe stating the price and she reply that was a mistake from the previous director and accounting agreed to do a 1 time discount, but they couldn't respect the price given. Well, on December 3rd I was notified at 7pm by Jackie Winter, Senior Are Manager that the center will close on December 13th and they will transfer all the kids to a different one, 20 min away from that one. A daycare that has been running for 20+ years, no caring for the problems this would carry. As there are no other daycares that work with my kids school, we agreed. On January 30 I gave my 1 month notice to take my kids to somewhere else as the distance is killing our days. Next day we receive a call asking what they could do for us to keep the kids in the center, that they could offer us a great discount, but honestly, the distance is stronger than the money, so we refuse. 2 days later, Jackie email me saying I'm owning them money the Subsidy didn't cover in October. I not even have subsidy...I forwarded her all the emails of why I do got a one time discount and she never replies. Now my kids are somewhere else, I'm receiving emails trying to charge me this mystery amounts. I tried to call the main office in Ontario and no one answer ever, the current site director (because no one seem to last over 3 months) said she want me to send all the emails again. Please avoid the headache, this franchise is so poorly managed and they close the daycare no caring for the effect on the kids or parents. My friend in BC had the same situation, they close a center from one day to another.

This daycare is so awesome! I highly recommend for anyone who is looking to enroll their child in a caring and safe environment. I enrolled my two year old and he absolutely loves it. The caregivers are so caring and give so much love towards each kid. Along with that the daycare director and assistant director are so nice! They ensure every morning they welcome us with a big smile and every evening they say good bye again with a big smile. I’m extremely happy with this daycare!
