Dr. Shankar and his team have been taking care of my dog for years and has been nothing but phenomenal to her and my family. I have been to other vets but the care and service he provides has been unmatched. I'm very grateful for all his help throughout all the issues my dog has bene through and highly recommend him.

Dr Shankar was amazing with our cat. It was our first time to the vet so we had a lot of questions. They were patient and very helpful. Definitely going to be bringing our cat here from now on.

We take our dog German Shepard male the hospital,he had diarrhea so the vet give him a medicine it stopped the same day !! They are very smart the vet care is out standing the customer care compassion and respectful for my day the best service in gta we highly recommend it

BEST VET EVER!!!! Excellent service and care from Dr.Shankar and staff. I had a fantastic experience with Keele Rutherford Animal Hospital. From the first phone call with their staff( I called few times to change the date and time and they were very accommodating) to the first vet appointment for my puppy Kobe and everything was seamless. Dr. Shankar was amazing so knowledgeable, really caring and truly compassionate vet. It’s shows he’s so sweet so is his assistant they took such good care of Kobe. I highly recommend Dr. Shankar because he genuinely cares for your pet.

Brought my dog in for a simple procedure. After surgery he was vomiting and had bad diarrhea and was given medication to help. We thought he was getting a bit better as he started to move around more and play and walk up the stairs and eat more, The day before he passed he started panting which had never happened to him before. We had brought he back to Keele Rutherford Animal hospital and he was given 2 shots which we’re supposed to help and was told to come back in the morning. That night my dog wasn’t able walk much, eat and drink and when he popped he pooped out blood. I had to help him drink because he was to weak or in pain to get up. The next morning I had brought him back for blood work, I showed vet what happened through video and the photos I had took. My poor dogs weight went down to 6 pounds from the 9 pounds he weighed we we first visited the hospital. Vet did not even touch my dog before telling me it could be heart failure. I was told I can do blood work but I would have to wait hours for results and come back at 6pm to do an ultrasound. I knew we didn't have time to wait. I decided to leave and called another vet and told them what happened. After telling them what medication was given to my dog and how much they told me to come in right away so that they can check him out, I rushed there. They immediately took my dog and put him on oxygen because he couldn’t breathe. His gums were white, blood count extremely low, he was bleeding from the inside. They did X-rays to see what was going on. They tried to take him off the oxygen to see if he could breathe on his own without panting and he couldn’t, when he would try to stand he would just fall. They tried many times to get the medical records from Dr. Shankar at Keele Rutherford animal with no success. In the end we were told that he would need 2 blood transfusions and even with that he may not even survive because was in such bad condition. Saying good bye to our best friend and seeing my 2 little boys so sad and crying broke my heart. The look on my poor dogs face when we went to say good bye (that scared look) is stuck in my head. . My family is traumatized... we tried to help our dog and now he is no longer with us. If you love you pet as much as we did and still do please do not go here. Dr. Shankar finally sent over the medical records 2 days after our Milo was put down. We are so heartbroken and devastated, my boys constantly talk about him and say how much they miss him.

Dr. Shankar took in my dog (who is not one of his patients) after I called in a panic after 6:00pm on a weeknight asking if he could look at my dogs eye. I called 20 vets and he was the only kind one who took in my Dog. He was so helpful and looked at my dog as if he was one of his own. He was so careful, polite and gentile with my dog. He ran eye tests on him on the spot, prescribed him drops, and the next day my dogs eye was almost completely better. Overall, dr. Shankar was amazing with my dog and I am so thankful he took the time and stayed late at the clinic and waited for me to come. I am so thankful for that and I would recommend him 100%!

I have been going to only one vet since I got my first puppy. We did all vaccinations, neutering, and other regular visits. I took my dog there for an emergency visit, which happened to be on a long weekend. They were kind, accommodating, and family friendly. A real community helper. The vet was conservative with treatment, and didn't order all kinds of unnecessary tests. The cost was very reasonable. I will definitely use this vet again in the future, and have already recommended them to others. Thanks again for helping us when no one else would!!
