If you want to go to an art school, DON'T go to KKSA. We don't actually do that much art (whether its dance, music, drama or visual arts) and when we do, it's USUALLY strictly controlled, regulated, or just copying what the teacher has done. It is a more accepting school, and it is definitely a better place to learn and be than my old school, but overall, if you want to go to an arts school (not the "learning through the arts" stuff we do here), you will be thouroughly disapointed. I also personally feel like alot of the teachers here are either good people but unhelpful teachers, or disagreeable people, but teachers that help me learn.

Absolutely the worst experience of my life. The students are full of themselves and only want to to see people hurt. Most staff members are rude, and expect for students to man for themselves. When I first started here, I knew I didn't like it, but I tried to give it time. I never adjusted, and that's because of the terrible environment and people. I went through too much here, now i'm much happier. If you're thinking of trying out, please talk to people who have had real life experiences at this horrid place. Please, just do what makes you happy, and go with your instinct.

This is a small school that allows all kids to get the personal and academic growth they need. I like how the program focuses on a broad range of arts and academics. I would have preferred a stronger visual arts focus, however this is a small drawback to the bigger picture. All staff and the principal are great people and strong supporters of their students to ensure they are ready for the next step in their academic pursuits.

I like my school! Before covid it was so fun so much arts and games but also enough homework and academic work. Now because of covid we dont do ANY music and just not enough art in general. There are some amazing teachers My grade 7 teacher was amazing but the new principal isnt a very good one. I found 2 good friends i really love and I know we will keep in touch after school ends but a lot of the students are very arrogant and they think they know everything. SO many students are just looking for attention and a chance to be a star. This school is EXTREMELY supportive of lgbtq society and diverse a very good enviroment for any gender, religion or color to thrive in. I would not reccomend coming to this school during covid time if your looking for art. But if covid ever ends i would 100% reccomend coming here (if the old principal comes back)

it was cool, during covid was kinda bad, but good. theres basically no more arts, my old school had more, and i liked the arts bit better there. the people there are kinda chill, but like no one in your old schools gonna go there, especially if you're a boy. But usually all the boys in the class (theres not a lot) join up. oh ya like 90% of the school are girls so if your a boy... there's also like no sports for boys too. the assignments try to involve the arts, but they are not really my favourite, but ya. speaking from a boys perspective, it was alright, but definitely not anything crazy. if you want advice to get in, you don't even have to be good at any arts, but just try to seem happy and responsive to the teachers uh ya pretty good, your parents probably forced you so ya 4 stars

I see a lot of reviews that say terrible things about KKSA and I just wanted to share my experience. I loved it! The teachers are not all amazing but there are some who really care about their students. We do A LOT more arts than I did at my old school. We had two periods of music, two periods of dance, two periods of drama and two periods of visual art every week. During assignments, we were encouraged to use an art form to present our work. It is a small school and it has limited resources but it still has a very creative environment. I find that many students take some things for granted and don’t realize how lucky they are to be at KKSA. There are so many clubs to join and if there wasn’t one that you were interested in, you could make one! That’s the beauty of a small school community. I know this school isn’t the right fit for everyone but if you are thinking of trying out, don’t let other’s words change your mind. Go, try out and see if it feels like the right fit for you.
