Kal Tire - Winnipeg

KalTire replaced 1 of my tires on Jan 2020. One month later, the new tire blew out on the highway. I talked to customer service and then zone manager Jeff and he insisted I must have done something to the tire even though I consistently told him I did not hit anything or touch the tire at all. Jeff told me repeatedly this will not be covered by them because I had the car for a month. After inspection by a Kaltire tech, he said that the OEM VALVE STEM was bent so it probably leaked because of it. He said this should have been checked when the tire was installed. I am certain Kal Tire was the last person to look at my tire and have access to that OEM VALVE STEM. Randy the Pembina Kal Tire manager was amazing and he directed me to go to St.James Kal Tire since they had my tire there. Unfortunately when I got to St.James the manager there, Dave was not as helpful. I had to call Randy again to ask him to explain to them again that I was not going to pay anything as this was not my fault. Dave dealt with the tech who was helping me at the til and ignored me completely. I also asked them to change 1 tail light bulb so just for that alone they charged $40. IMO Kal Tire has poor customer service; they will make it very hard for you to get help if something goes wrong. With the exception of Randy, I talked to multiple people from Kal Tire who did not care. It is awful to realize they can make a mistake that can put you in a very bad accident and then blame you and ask you to pay for it. I was lucky to find 1 person willing to help, which was Randy. But I found there are more reasons not to go back to Kal Tire: 1. The techs doing the work at the back seems to be unsure about what they're doing. Example 1: When I had my tire installed (Pembina) the tech at the front told the tech in the back he did something wrong and to re-do it. Example 2: When I had the tail light bulb replaced (St. James) the tech from the back kept asking the tech at the front questions about which bulb he's suppose to use. 2. The manager in charge of all the managers is not customer service oriented. Jeff consistently told me there's no way anything was wrong with the tire and they will not cover it. 3. Most of them DON"T CARE even if they made a mistake that put your life in danger. NB: Thanks Randy for treating me like a human being.

So the past 2 years I thought my tires I got from you guys were good, when I question you guys regarding the tires sticking out more and the tires being slightly bigger then the original factory size needed for the make of the car and if it wasn't gonna cause problems but kaltire in Alberta told me you guys shouldn't have done that. Because I have a high chance of it blowing out while driving. All my tires have that flap. ______________ Follow up, it's the rims from a Regina location, got it thank you guys! You have contacted me very quickly to resolve the issue. You guys got it solve to my frustrated feeling towards this issue, when I make some extra cash, I'll contact my local kaltire, in the future. I had been using Kal tire for a number of years until a few months back when they "Repaired " a flat tire . It went flat by morning . Called to mention and make note of this ....didnt really get any resolution . so be it . ill live with that . Next time i went in they broke ff all the locking nuts, charged us for doing so and then didnt bother to replace the lug nuts on my wifes vehicle in which she carries our children in . We called to talk about this. left a couple of voice mails and also spoke to a CSR over the phone once with the invoice numbers and were essentially IGNORED . no returned calls . no emails . nothing . Very uncool and sorry , but it is negligent . Get it together please and train staff to treat safety as paramount. Thank you

I went in for a tire change and storage. Great customer service! It only took about half an hour. They also did a wheel alignment check and reassured me that I didn’t need one at this time. Overall, very happy :)

Josh and his team are top shelf. The couple of times I've been in a situation where I needed a shop to help me out Josh made it work. We all know the stress situations life can throw at us and having a reliable service center that "makes it happen" has me returning there each and every time. Thanks Josh and the rest of the team for being absofreakenlutely great to deal with. ?

Went in for some new winter tires and decided to get a 2nd opinion on a tire my dealership said was in urgent need of replacing. Long story short, I left with 4 top-notch tires, paid less than I anticipated, and they fixed that tire the dealership told me was dead at no cost (even though they didn't sell me those tires) - all in about 1.5 hours. Service was friendly, efficient, and super quick. I can't say enough how much I appreciate their honesty and integrity.

I have gone to this location about 5 times for various reasons in the past two years, and the service and quality is really awesome. Everyone is really great, friendly, and make you feel like your business is important to them. They are also fast and reliable, and for me personally, so conveniently close so I can walk in between drop offs. Very happy with the service!

Will always take my car for service at Kal Tire on Pembina. Very knowledgeable staff. Treated fairly and they are very honest as to what my car needs and what can wait. I am never disappointed. My car is done within the timeframe and they are very friendly on the phone. No gimmicks. Fair prices and excellent workmanship.
