★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was looking for a new mechanic near home and someone recommended Shorten Automotive. I first brought my F150 for new shocks, new tires and a full engine/transmission and differential oil change. They let me know that the transmission and differential fluid looked good and didn't need replacing at this time. A mechanic that will say no to unnecessary work really gets a huge thumbs up from me.
I have since brought my Honda Odyssey and a third older vehicle there for service. In every interaction with them they have also taken time to help educate me on specific possible future work the vehicles may need without pushing the work on you right now.
So far they are by the best shop I have ever dealt with. Tim and the guys are fantastic and really seem to care about the long term relationship not just what they can make from you today (like so many other automotive shops).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came to Shorten Automotive to get an honest opinion on the work the dealer recommended I have done to my 2012 Accent. The staff were professional, didn't beat around the bush, and gave me an honest assessment of what needed to be done and when. Great prices and friendly service too!
Would highly recommend Shorten to anyone in Winnipeg looking for a reliable mechanic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very professional, pleasant and knowledgeable set of guys. I had brought my car to another mechanic in regards to an issue with a suspension component which they were unable to locate. The team at Shorten were able to find the issue with ease and provide me with a very fair quote for the repair and completed the work within their estimated amount of time. I will be happy to bring my vehicle to the guys at Shorten the next time it is in need of service or repair.

I’ve always felt nervous and intimidated when dealing with anything car related, but Tim and his staff are professional, genuine and took the time to explain every repair in detail. Their service is quick and affordable. It seems like they go the extra mile for their customers, it certainly felt that way for me.
