Very happy with the service I received. I had a couple of electrical outlets that just stopped working all of a sudden. After some searching the problem ended up being wires that had been cut accidentally. Work was done in a reasonable amount of time and at a very reasonable price. When we experienced an electrical problem in our basement, I began to call electricians to get a sense of the work and shop for pricing. In most cases, I was quoted high prices just for showing up and advised of diagnostic and work charges for worse-case scenarios. I engaged one electrician and after two hours, he could not figure out the problem, took the money and left my problem in worse shape. I was lucky to then come across JTL & Son and its owner Jim. After telling him what was going on in the basement, he already knew, from his many years of experience, what the problem was and informed me over the phone of what the fix most likely would be. I was quite impressed by this and together with his very reasonable hourly rates with no extra service charge for showing up, I engaged him to work on my electrical issue in the basement. Not only were Jim and his co-worker Sean punctual, but Jim was right on his assessment and solved my issue quickly. Both Jim and Sean were professional, neat, and also very personable. Mostly, my wife and I got an intuitive sense that Jim was a decent and honest person, to which was proven by this workmanship and character. Lastly, as I need to change my circuit panel in the near future, Jim gave me a very competitive and reasonable quote, along with a detailed and transparent overview of all of the steps and costs. Jim came the same day we called to investigate some electrical issues I was having in my home. He took the time to find the problem, explain it to me and correct the issue. We have had Jim twice to our home to do work for us. Each time he is punctual, organized, does very good professional work, and is extremely neat and tidy. He is excellent at cleaning up after and covers your floors etc. so, there is very little mess. He has also been to our daughter's home and I have told other family and friends if they need an electrician, I have a good name. We will be using Jim again in a few months for more work. Recently I called JTL & Son to perform a variety of electrical tasks on a residential renovation project. I am very happy with the service I received from Jim and his team. They added a 20 amp GFI circuit for a jacuzzi tub, installed eight LED thin pot lights in a kitchen without making any holes in the drywall, and performed a number of other tasks as well. Not only was the work completed in a timely and professional manner, but there were little things that stood out about the experience that really showed how JTL & Son Ltd is a cut above. Firstly, they showed up exactly when they said they would be there. Secondly, they thoroughly cleaned up and vacuumed after the work was completed (This is very important in a residential environment). Thirdly, Jim and his crew members conducted themselves in a totally professional manner on the job site at all times. I look forward to calling them again in the future and would wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone looking for a reputable electrical contractor.
