Joeys Seafood Restaurants - Airdrie - Airdrie

I don't normally give negative reviews, in fact this will be my first. I ordered food today from Joeys seafood. I paid 22 dollars for the Triple Catch which consisted of 3 very small and thin Fish fillets. I have had much cheaper and much better fish, including fish I make at home. I paid $9.50 for clam strips that were not edible. They were not crispy but hard and the clam was like chewing on the bottom of your shoe. They were definitely cheap frozen clams. The Triple platter is way over priced and the clams should be given away for pet food. I am from Nova Scotia and grew up only a few miles from the Bay of Fundy, I know what good seafood is, you are not going to get good seafood from Joeys. With the tip I gave, my food cost a total of 50 dollars. My first mistake was paying that much for crappy food, my second mistake was not taking a photo of the food that was delivered. You do not have to take my word for it though, order food from Joeys yourself and tell me I am wrong. There are some positive reviews and all I can say to that is those people do not know what good seafood is. Take a trip with me back East and not only will your eyes be opened but your taste buds will never want seafood from Joeys again. The only positive that I can take from this experience is that delivery was rather fast and the french fries are ok. I did not spend 50 dollars only for fast delivery and good french fries though. Even though I was not smart enough to take a photo of the food that I received from Joeys, I will leave you with a photo of fried fish that I made recently. This is what fish should look like. I use beer batter and the batter will remain crispy even when it sits in the fridge and gets cold. You will not get fish like this from Joeys. I have learnt my lesson and that lesson is never again will I buy food from Joeys. I gave Joeys 2 stars, 1 star for fast deliver and 1 star for decent fries.

Ordered (all for delivery) the half-pound Shrimp Feast (shrimp scampi) for $19. Received 17 small shrimp in some watery broth (so much for garlic and butter). Ordered the Shrimp and Lobster Mac & Cheese (see attached pic) for $18 and the portion size was a joke for the price, doubt they even used real cheddar, it tasted bland. Ordered the 1/2 pound North Pacific Cod & Chips for $19, received 2 small pieces of battered cod, no way was this 1/2 lb. Had NO TASTE at all, bland, Alaskan Pollock would have had more taste, seriously. They didn't even include tartar sauce or ketchup packets or cutlery. I placed the order through Skip the Dishes but after order placed it showed that Joey's doesn't use Skip the Dishes delivery people, they use their own and it showed. The food was lukewarm at best (and the restaurant is 3 minute drive from me) whereas had it been delivered by Skip the Dishes courier it would have all been nice and hot (they use insulated delivery bags; this was delivered in a paper bag). $65 for the order (included the $5 delivery fee) + $6 tip = $71 worth of really crappy food. Will never order from this Joey's again - ever.

For fish'n Chip style places, solid 5/5 I came in here a few weeks back with my mum as a little treat. Around 4PM there were very few others dining, so dinner was peaceful and quiet. The service was as good as it could be, too. The server greeted us warmly and made sure we were not only comfortable, but that we were generally well looked after. If you want some affordable seafood, low wait times and a nice overall experience, try them out! We had the Calamari, seafood tacos, chowder and fish+chips. All of which was very good. As always, will update here if anything changes! 5/5 would eat here again!

Tried Fish n' Chip's all over Alberta. This hit the bullseye! Service was great, pricing fair, food hot, fresh and cooked properly! Restaurant bright, clean and quiet. Soft pop music, nice ambiance. Staff couldn't have been more menu trained and friendly.

We ordered the 5 apps from Joeys tonight. We live 10 minutes away ordered the food delivered it was 25 minutes late and stone cold when it arrived. Phoned Joey’s to complain and the person on the phone said that’s what happens when you order your food delivered he said if you want hot food either eat at the restaurant or pick it up yourself. So totally not acceptable.

Did take out twice from this place within the last month. Both times were semi busy, but my order was quick each time. The quality and service was great.

Wait time here is absolutely ridiculous. And I am an overly patient person. But 1 hour after ordering to wait for food is a line!!!!! Especially when 2 tables get their food before you and you not only ordered first, but you sat down first. And their excuse is that it is their busiest day of the year. I get that, but people that ordered after us got their food. Beyond unacceptable.

Quite empty when we went on a Tuesday at 5pm. The food is alright (coming from someone who doesn't like seafood). The lobster Mac and cheese however is not recommended. We ordered the mud pie for dessert and it was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten in my life. I literally dream about it sometimes. If you love chocolate, you MUST try it!
