We gave it a try tonight as it popped up with good reviews and was opened recently. The ambiance was fine. It's not a fancy destination and they are not promoting the restaurant that way anyway. We ordered one main and two appetizers. Being a big fan of Chowders, we ordered their chowder. It fully lacked taste. No seasoning. Was runny with curdled milk, pieces of unevenly cooked potatoes and sandy clams. Sorry guys but the soup was the worst soup I'd ever had and second worst restaurant dish I'd ever had. The tuna fish was good. A bit overpowered by balsamic glaze but overall passed the mark. I recommend that. The Cajun fish and shrimp dish was half way. The shrimp was ok to good, the fries were good, but the fish was ice cold, lacked seasoning, looked it has some seasoning but tasted like fishy water. The team were welcoming and nice. I hope they have good fish and chips. Overall I give 8/10 for ambience 10/10 for hospitality 1/10 for soup 7/10 for tuna dish 4/10 for the main course Judging only on food, the restaurant deserves only 1 star (sorry guys not trying to be mean but two of your dishes were not worthy of a restaurant). Overall I'll give it 3 because I believe the first week can pose some challenges.

We were very happy with the fish and chips. We had both the pollock and cod and they were both tasty with batter nice and crisp, while not overcooking the fish... it was tender and moist. the portions were very generous for the price. Fries (no seasoning for me) were also great. I have not enjoyed any other fish and chips in calgary for a long time and pleased to find this.

Saw an article on this new version and location of Joey's seafood. There is parking a couple doors down. The sign outside allows it to blend in with the neighborhood but does it no justice inside. Place is way bigger then it looked in the pictures. This allowed for comfortable distancing. Service was great. Drink menu may be limited but it isn't meant to be a bar and there was plenty to pick from. The craft eight eighty eight beer was good. Coconut shrimp were delicious as was all of the food. The two price fish special was delicious. Kids menu had a good section as well. It was a bummer to see it so empty when got there but it filled up and there was a steady stream of skip drivers. Worth giving this try! We will be back.

I have had different meals at this location, many times, and every one of them was excellent. My favorites are haddock fish and chips and lobster bisque. The fries are one of the best ones I've had in any restaurant and lobster bisque is to die for. Service was quick and very friendly, they over-exceeded my expectations with any special request I had. I strongly recommend trying it out!

Drive by this place alot, was time to give it a shot. At the time I walked in, it wasn't too busy - wonder if it's popular?! I had the fish burger (pollock) with fries. Was really good!!! Nice stack of fish, tasty batter, good flavor and fixings were also nice. Service was friendly & good but only a few tables at the time... See you guys again! I never give a 5 star at first tries.. just because it sometimes fails to be consistent.

Awesome experience at this location of Joey's Only Seafood. We really liked the updated decor and ambiance that this location offers. The staff were friendly and attentive during our whole visit. Portions were generous and plating looked awesome. Parking is available in back or on street on 7 ave.

More of a 3.75-4 star only because of 2 things letting the meal down but will definitely be ordering from here again. Ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, legendary fish sandwich (Joeys famous fish) & the Joeys famous calamari (Cajun) Chips & chicken were sadly over fried. Had to pull some of the skin off as was too crunchy… but was still great and enjoyed every bite of the burgers and Cajun Calamari. Really glad I tried this and hopefully be back as soon as I get that fish n chips craving.
