This was the case for me with this place. We didn't try any new dishes and instead went with a regular combination we like, but everything we tried was absolutely delicious and fresh while presented well. The service was excellent as well, and average prices. Absolutely nothing to complain about. I liked the food here, and I'm definitely will be going back.

F	Forrester on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant used to be my family's one of favorite restaurant. We've been going here 4-5 years. Servers were attentive, foods came fast and accurate. However recently they have changed their servers and I've noticed their service level going downhill. I just went today and ordered spicy chirashi don. I am allergic to cucumber and asked them to remove it completely from my dish. The server acknowledged this and promptly forgot. When the dish came out, I told them I can't eat this due to my allergy. The server took the dish back and promised to make a new one. As I looked over to sushi bar area, I saw sushi man and the server picking out cucumber from the same dish with chopstick and was going to serve the same dish back to me. Needless to say, I cancelled my order altogether and let them know this practice needs to stop. Restaurants needs to be more careful if there is allergic request.

I have a friend and coworker who raves about JL, so when I had a family member visiting from out of town, I decided it was a good opportunity to try it. I ordered Lunch Set C, and a piece of Tuna Oshi, and fresh Uni, based on the recommendation of my friend. All was fresh and delicious, and such a generous serving, that I had plenty of leftovers to take for another meal. We were a group of 4 and everyone enjoyed their meals. We also enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and excellent, friendly service by Janet. Yesterday I had to go back for a take-out order of Aburi Ebi Oshi, after hearing my coworker talk about his favourite dish. It was absolutely delicious, and will now be my favourite dish as well. It is best eaten while still warm, so would be best to eat fresh at the restaurant, but also good as takeout if eaten promptly. The Oshi sauce is delectable! Thank you JL and Janet - I will be back!

Fresh greens and the dressing is unreal. I hope they never change this menu item, I will be ordering every week! Generous portion of chicken with the chicken don. Yam tempura and avocado roll is delicious. This is good quality sushi and Japanese food, possibly the best in North Van. I can’t wait to order again.
