Jayne's Cottages Luxury Rentals & Concierge Services

It pains me to write this as I have had great experiences with Jayne's Cottages in the past, but last summers (2021) experience was awful. I sent Jayne's Cottages a direct note regarding our experience detailing what happened months ago and have not received any response. Here is what you should know when you book with Jayne's Cottages: >there is an abundance of hidden fees, you will need to pay for garbage removal, resort fees, pet surcharge, credit card fees and non-negotiable cleaning fees. >if something goes wrong, you are on your own. >No compensation for services not provided - even if they are promised. So many things happened on this trip that could have been easily remedied. I don't mind paying a little extra for good service, but in this case I paid a LOT extra for nothing. If you want more details on their most egregious offence: We were promised internet connectivity for streamingTV and remote work (zoom meetings specifically) for the duration of our stay. When we arrived we found out that they didn't have SmartTVs (so no streaming TV...) and the internet was capped and stopped working altogether after 7 days of a 16 day rental. Only after 3 days of no internet and countless emails requesting help, did they take our complaints seriously. And this was only because we asked to cancel our rental contract based on services not provided. We missed the last days of the Olympics, we cancelled our plans to have friends come up and visit, we started packing up to go home because nobody got back to us. When they finally did, they found out that the owner had capped the internet. They needed to call Rogers and pay another $50 so we could get access again. Such an easy remedy and had it happened after my first email, I would have totally understood. Our total bill was over $35,000 for just over two weeks - three of those days were right-offs. Another day was wasted waiting for the mandatory cleaning crew to NOT show up. After detailing my concerns to Jayne's Cottages I receive nothing in response. Jayne's Cottages are not worth the premium!

We had a great trip! The cottage was beautiful, clean, comfortable and bright. The outside was gorgeous! The team was welcoming with flowers and a basket of goodies ! When we needed a heater, batteries, sand/salt or water, someone came and delivered right away! Amazing service! Will definitely rent from Jaynes cottages again for peace of mind and great cottages!

Thank you very much for making our cottage renting experience amazing! We were at the Blue Heron Estate over the Labor Day week and my family and I had a great time. The property was beautiful and we can tell how much the owner has put into the space to make it a lovely home….truly an impressive property. On top of that, the property was clean and spotless, and the mid-week cleaning staff was amazing as well, it truly added an extra touch to the entire experience. Jayne’s team were also amazing throughout the process. I had a ton of questions before and during the stay as this is a new experience for me and my family – we usually stay at hotels. But the concierge and my cottage manager were so friendly and patient with me! Would highly recommend this service if you are looking for a high end cottage rental experience.

We were in a dire situation, as our cottage booked months in advance with another rental company was cancelled the day before arrival. When we called Jayne's and explained our plight, they were able to find us a cottage while at the same time consoling us and offering hope. As a large family, options were limited but they performed their magic and a cottage became available two days later for a full week. It was an outstanding property and rescued what would have otherwise become a miserable week. The team at Jayne's made us feel cared for and a top priority for them. Such exceptional service is rare. The cottage was impeccably top-notch. We will absolutely book with Jayne's Cottages again!

I rented an island cottage last summer for 2 weeks and paid over $35000 and the description said it was lake front with boat docks swimming and a boat house. This turned out to be totally misleading advertising. Although the cottage was newly built and modern and comfortable the waterfront did not match the advertised description. The property was on the back side of the island on a river facing public docks with nonstop noisy commercial construction equipment and pleasure craft launching. Also the so called water front for swimming was a swamp at a depth of no more 10” inches of water with weeds and ground cover fabric laid in the water. There was no way you could swim in it. Additionally prior to booking it I had mentioned that I had a direct drive wake boarding boat that needs at least 2.5 ft draft as the prop could and it could not be be trimmed. They said that it was dredged for it to go into the boat house which turned out to also false. There was no dock to tie up the boat as well. It looked like the Owner shoveled a whole into the silt just outside of the entrance to the boat house to create a whole so that his boats prop would not hit the silt. I ended up damaging my boats running gear underneath trying to dock my boat. Also the hot tub was left standing on a pile of rotted logs sitting uneven filled with green swamp water. The service panel for the hot tub was also left open creating an electrical shock hazard during the two weeks we were there. Multiple times I complained and asked Jane to respond nothing happened. For the record I was a previous cottage owner on the two lakes in the Muskokas for over 20+ years and know when I m being mislead. Do not trust this organization as they are not in control of their growth.

We just spent a week in the winter at one of Jayne’s cottages called, “Land before time.” Our family would highly recommend staying in this particular cottage or any of Jayne’s places if this was an example of their standards. We are very OCD when it comes to cleanliness and it was perfect. It was completely supplied with everything we needed to prepare meals with an amazing main kitchen to cook in. We are cooks and bakers and other than our food it was complete. With a spectacular view of the lake as you prepare meals and dine. (Yes there is 2 kitchens) The huge windows give you a spectacular view from every room. There was a play set for the granddaughters, everything needed to play in the snow and an actual skating rink that was smooth with nets and sticks and well maintained. A games room and media room that gave everyone a space to do as they please or play family games. The staff were welcoming and answered any questions and arranged everything we needed. Snow plowing and sanding, cleaning midweek, a chef, manicures and pedicures. Their chef Richard Feroze was amazing. We have dined in many Michelin restaurants around the world and his meal was delicious. (We planned the meal prior with him). He was so personable and the timing of each course was spot on. We can’t say enough and would highly recommend this experience. We will definitely add this to our list of great places and experiences in our travels.

Cannot thank Jayne and her team enough for looking after the rental of our Lake Joe cottage. Amazing! Jayne’s business acumen and luxury market experience have made her the best in Canada. Simply an exceptional experience for cottage owners looking to rent their cottage out and not have to worry about a single aspect of turning the keys over - every detail is looked after and every guest has treated our cottage as their own. Hiring Jayne and team to manage our cottage rental was the best decision we could have possibly made. Looking forward to many summers with Jayne’s’!
