Never had a poor experience at the Gravenhurst home building centre, worth the drive there instead of shopping at the port location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everytime I go into this location, no one says hello, no one asks if I need assistance, then when I am checking out the cashiers don’t even look at me, they continue their conversations amongst each other, tell me the total and give me the receipt without even acknowledging my presence. This hasn’t happened just once it has happened several times. I made a phone call to inquire about a product the other day and the lady said to me “I’m not sure what that is, but we don’t carry it” she didn’t even bother to look it up or try to find it. I will never shop here again, which saddens me because I try to support local but with customer service like this, I just can’t.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finding a place to park can be a chore. Small store Limited stock have to go to Orillia or Barrie quite often. After shopping here for 2 years I have to say I have never dealt with a more miserable bunch of people no one is ever happy in this place, except the guys in the back, which are all friendly. The old girl up front has had a sour on since the day she was born I have never seen her smile or be friendly, and they carry their attitude on to new employees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the staff over the past several months of lock-down insanity. I know their phones never stopped ringing. It must have been exhausting to gather the phone-in orders and run through the store looking for customer requests, but they were SO helpful.
A special shout-out to Elliott who took a dozen phone calls from me regarding plumbing parts - thank you for all of your assistance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an example of great Muskoka living. I was up from GTA servicing a cottage I looked after. 2.5 hours away from home I was greeted and looked after and on my way in a few minutes !! Thanks again !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is one lady in the store that is an absolute disgrace to customer service. Middle age lady that seems like she runs the show but clearly does not. She is rude to employees on a regular basis also very rude and disrespectful to customers. Just the other day asked her to place a special order on an item that was stocked on shelf. She got mad at the cashier trying to help me because “you’re stupid, that’s not where you place a special order” then went to another computer and came back saying item was discontinued and not available through home hardware anymore. I left the store a little confused and honestly taken a back by this ladies attitude. Called gravenhurst home hardware and within 3 minutes had a special order placed and ready within three days for the same product! Nothing like not wanting to do work and just be sour. Remove her from your store front she is destroying the reputation of our small town home hardware. Every trade across port Carling knows who this grumpy lady is and wants nothing to do with home hardware thanks to her
