★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Outstanding school, unbelievable value. I spent a week, Monday through Friday, with Rob at his school. The training was tough and technical. The students are so welcoming (maybe this is just a Canadian thing). Visiting students train for free, so no excuses. 10/10 I would recommend this school to my own training partners

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Island Top Team is a great place to train BJJ. Rob has developed a clear set of intuitive concepts that apply across the spectrum of players from white belt to black belt, and everything is tested in the crucible of rolling.
The school's atmosphere is friendly and open. I was there for a week participating in Rob's visiting student program during which Rob shared his knowledge, his school, and even a room in his house! All of his students reflected Rob's willingness to share ideas, they were fun to meet and roll with.
Check out the iTunes apps Rob created with Stephen Kesting to get a good feel for what's happening at ITT.
Also, right now Rob's distillation of leg locking is probably one of the most thorough explorations of the current trend in leg attacks.
If you can, you should visit Island top team.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the pleasure of spending a week in Nanaimo as a part of Island Top Team's visiting student program. Rob was hospitable and welcoming as was his team. Myself and another student were allowed to stay at Rob's place and train at his school which was an awesome experience. The only thing more impressive than the hospitable and welcoming nature of their team was Rob's proficiency as an instructor. I can tell you that he has an excellent system for improving an athletes technical and conceptual approach to grappling. He can quickly spot the holes in your game and give you advice on how to fix them. Rob exemplifies the term 'student of the game' traveling all over and taking privates with some of the top competitors in the world and then brings that knowledge back to his school. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in improving their conceptual understanding and technical knowledge of jiu jitsu.

If your not fully vaccinated you'll probably be asked not to attend or if only partially vaccinated, you might be asked not to attend any further. Depending on what the case numbers are doing. Other than that seemed like a good club.
