Lots of wildlife to check out in the middle of the city. Short loop. Great for young children to walk and explore.

This is a beautiful place! It's a lovely walk. There's a few different ways you can walk through, some nice bridges and scenic bench areas. Lots of birds and deer. A couple of beaver dams but nobody seemed to be home. I think it'd be wheelchair accessible, but be ready for some good pushing up some small hills in the trails. The trails are also dirt and stone so not all smooth. We weren't sure where to go at first, but found out we walk through the gate to the right of the building. Just close and pin it behind you. Then, enjoy your peaceful wander through nature!

This bird sanctuary is really nice. We went there a few times, and the customer service center is tidy, clean and well presented. On top of that, when you walk into the reserve, it's quite picturesque and the trails are well kept and maintained, while the park seats and decks are also in excellent condition. A big thumbs up to the staff who make the place look very presentable and welcoming. In addition, the parking spots are quite large and you don't have pot holes. As for the natural park itself, the wildlife is worth it - we got to see deers, ducks, geese, magpies, ...etc and it's very scenic and quiet. Nothing beats that fresh natural scent of the grass and straw, together with that fresh morning breeze that sweeps through the park.

I love this place. The trail is well maintained. The washroom is also clean. When I came, lots of ducks, mallards, magpies, and chickadees. The trail is not that long but it's good.

I love walking in the sanctuary but the pathway is in very icy and hazardous conditions as of Sunday January 23, 2022. I'm not sure why gravel isn't laid down on the pathways to ensure people don't slip and injure themselves.

Nice bird sanctuary, when we went we only saw some geese, ducks, and deer but if you spend more time there’s owls and other birds too. There is a little information building and a mini museum set up inside as you come in from the parking lot. There was also a kids bird learning station outside for national bird migratory day with some cute stuffed animals from wild republic that kiddos could interact with and learn about birds. Wish we got to see more birds but maybe next time.

Wonderful inner city bird sanctuary. Great place to come as a family to enjoy the sights and sounds, and to walk the paths, bridges, and boardwalks. If you are a birder, if the name didn't tip you off, this is the place for you. Highly recommend.

The bird sanctuary is just that a sanctuary. It’s a beautiful park with in the city that feels like an escape from the city. The park it self has a well laid path system that should be accessible for many people. While it’s not the biggest path it does offer ample ability to see many animals, I my self have seen deer, and large amount of birds including a bald eagle while on my walks there. During peak hours it can get a little busy but it’s still a great place to stop in. There is a smaller parking lot it’s also on the bike path system which offers a great alternative to trying to park there! Over all you won’t regret coming and spending an afternoon here
