My laptop charger broke and they sold me an old charger for a hefty price. The charger they sold me had different wattage, but the staff assured it would work fine and won’t affect my battery. But it did, now the battery on the laptop drains quickly and the charger itself doesn’t work sometimes.

After doing years of business without a proper IT set up, I commissioned IBC Computers to assist with getting things up to snuff. I’ve been happy with their service, and most recently they’ve been very helpful by offering an interim computer (with very short notice set up) while one of mine is having a warranty repair. You might be able to find what you’re looking for for slightly less (not that I did a lot of shopping around) BUT the real value is in having someone local when things go wrong. Certainly worth it!

If it were possible to give a negative star rating, I would! Paid over $200 for a new trackpad, still had problems with the shift key and the backspace, lost my fingerprint scanner, and now, less than a week after getting it back, the mouse is malfunctioning again, whether I use my remote wireless mouse or the trackpad! I will never ever recommend this company to anyone. When I got the repair done, they tried to make it sound like it was my fault it took so long, because the cause of the problem was apparently moisture in the keyboard area - but that is no excuse for taking over a week, and putting my repair order on hold every time a better paying customer needed them. And now, the repair has failed - what a bunch of crooks! My story: Purchased a refurbished Lenovo from IBC Computers in Jan - in late February had problems with it -took it back for exam and left it there for repair while I was away for a week. They found nothing wrong but recommended I install their remote repair service and virus protection. Paid over $500 for the laptop, which only had a 30 day warranty, then another $125 for the remote service and protection. Did have 1 successful service "call" by remote login in the next few months, but I ultimately diagnosed the problem. Then in July, problems with the keyboard and trackpad, and had to take it in again. They knew this was my business computer, and that I would be hamstrung and frustrated while without my laptop, when we took it in. Ultimately, 4 days later, Patrick called and advised that the trackpad appeared to need replacing. He quoted an hours labor and about $80 for the used part. He said they would scavenge a used part from their backroom "when they had a few minutes to go back there and look". That was a Friday. He said they would call when the laptop was ready to be picked up. But every time I called, Monday and Tuesday, I was told they were too busy with their corporate clients, to take time to examine my laptop, or that Patrick was the only one who knew what was wrong with my unit and that he was not working that day. By Wednesday, I called to see if I could pick up my laptop when I was in the neighbourhood and was told it still hadn't been fixed. I berated the person on the phone and advised I felt I was receiving poor service and being treated like my business was not valued. the person I spoke with disagreed and then proceeded to explain to me that the technicians are out of the store most of the time on corporate contract work and that my laptop might get fixed in the next two days. I was not happy and let them know. Later that same day they called and surprise, my laptop was ready. It cost me $200 plus for the repairs, and I lost my fingerprint scanner,(replacement part did not include that item) AND, the Shift key and backspace key are still not functioning! And, after working with it for 3 days, the mouse is now not working properly!!! I have now owned the rebuilt laptop for just over 7 months, paid more than $800 including repairs, for a unit I could have bought new from Staples for $600. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for.

A handy store when you need a part (when and if they have one) but can't wait for even 2 or 3 day delivery from an online retailer. Prices are a bit higher than online but that is to be expected with a bricks and mortar shop. Good prices for refurbished and off-lease computers. Staff are overly cautious about people DIYing their own computer repairs/builds. They want you to bring the computer in for them to charge and collect service fees. I have been building my own PCs for years so I just nod my head and politely say no thank you.

My hard drive died and I was distraught, IBC computers came recommended to retrieve the data off the hard drive. First I called gave a run down to the person I talked to, they said based on my description that retrieving the data is possible but they would have to actually go in and see before they could make any kind of guarantee. I took my hard drive in and gave the info required, was treated as pleasantly, felt comfortable with the whole process. few days later I got a call and all my data minus a few system files was able to be retrieved! thank you for making my whole week!

Just got back from IBC and I'm not a happy camper ! I recently (12/20) bought a Dell tower and monitor and was convinced to buy a anti virus program, total cost of almost $1,000.00. Unfortunately I hadn't had a reason to use the cd drive till a few eeks ago and discovered it wouldn't auto start . Went to the shop and was informed that they knew it wouldn't because of the way windows10 is set up and that my 30 day warranty had expired so they were going to charge me a half hr. labour to correct the problem . I realize because of the situation(virus) things might be a little slow but after spending this kind of money and they know your going to come back , why not set it up right to begin with ? I also had some repair work on my two laptops previosly . ($$$$)

Not impressed! Just wanted to return a $16 FAN, and was told it should have worked. But it didn't after 3 attempts! For me to get money back I was told to bring my computer in so they could install it! For what another $30 50 bucks! Totally would not recommend this store!!!
