I live out of town & only do business occasionally but the staff always recognize me. Thank you. They make recommendations which save me money. The atmosphere is light & airy I think itโ€™s worth waiting 5 mins to get this quality of service.

Rude rude rude! And slow! After being appalled by the rudeness of the Orchard Plaza staff I tried calling to make an appointment to open a bank account. Both times I was on hold for well over an hour, (the branch has no direct line) and then I find out it will be 1-2 weeks for an available appt. Seriously!

4 stars only because HSBC in general havenโ€™t been very helpful but this branch was great. Due to past experiences and no longer using them I actually went in to close my account, quick, easy and courteous

Very Unprofessional! We made an appointment to discuss and re-new our mortgage with HSBC Cooper Rd. branch. What an absolute waste of time. We were set up with a fellow named Dong, he was not prepared at all, he had no paper work for us, did not even know what we were there for, it took him 10 minutes just to pull up our account. Since he was so unprepared, obviously were not going to do what we made the appointment to do so we thought we'd just talk about rates for now, he froze like a clam and pointed to some small chart the size of a cocktail napkin and asked us to look for ourselves from across the desk at 8 point font ...really really. I asked if he could enlarge the screen, he said no. I noticed from his screen that we had been paying 2X life insurance and disability and pointed out that was not what we had arranged when we set up our mortgage he looked the screen and said "well you've only been with the bank 4 years" I don't know what length of time at had to do with anything? but we've been there 11 years. I asked if he could look into it, he said no. I shortly thereafter got out of my chair and walked out! Angry enough to leave him and my husband behind. Dong he was not helpful at all, I wonder who he's related to that he has this job. I won't ever let them stick me with this guy again. . Worse his English was dreadful and it mad me angry that I had to ask him to repeat himself with every sentence it was like talking to someone with marbles in their mouth. I am not at all a racist, but I should be able to fully understand the fellow talking to me about my mortgage don't ya think?. Maybe some English classes if he is going to deal with English speaking clients. Also cheesed me off I have to take more time off work to go back and get this done right. I had nothing better to do than waste 1 1/2 hours at bank getting nothing done.

It is so hard to get to talk to anyone on the phone. You have to go through 5 min of listing for options and when you finally get going in the right place you get put on hold for so long (15-20 min). The customer service reps don't know anything. I wish that you can just phone your local branch and talk to them.

When i first read the reviews here about how bad this bank was i thought it couldn't possibly be true. I really thought these people were being dramatic i mean its only a bank right? HSBC is not just a bank. No, they've diversified. Leaders of there own minds paving the way of disservice and slow wait times in an era where time is more valuable to our citizens of a predominantly capitalist society. After spending 1 hour and 45 minutes to open a single savings account.. (yeah, that's it) I was asked to call a service line to activate my online banking - shocking news- since when do you have to call to activate an app that takes less than 5 minutes to do at BMO, TD & Scotia...? Needless to say after 40 Minutes on the phone to activate an app that still wouldn't function I got frustrated and closed my account about 3 1/2 hours after i had just opened it. HSBC takes the cake and eats it too. Glutton's in there own lane not giving 2 s***'s, 3 f***'s or 1 damn about there customers or speeding up there horrible service times... truly shocked. I don't write negative reviews and it pains me that i actually encountered such terrible service that it would be a disservice from me to you if i didnt create awareness and not let anyone go through what i just went through. There's much better branches that will actually service you. i recommend anywhere but here

Even one star is still a lot for them. I was a customer at this branch more than 8 years and they treated me so bad that I had to close all accounts with them. When I closed my accounts, they didnt want to give my money right away. They asked me if I can do money order which takes up to a week. Are you serious? I said no and I want my cash right away because I didn't wanna deal with them not even a second. Also when I wanted to increase my debit limit, teller told me it will take 5 business day. So I went to TD and guess what? they did right away for me. I had to file several complaints to HSBC. They don't care about customer's privacy at all. I switched to other bank and I am glad I did..this branch doesn't value customers! Worst Bank ever!

I cant get a hold of the manager of this Kelowna branch, Laurie Udell, after three or four phone messages left. I have been trying since August of 2021 to reach her. It's now September 25th ! I filed a complaint with their head office, about the matter, about three weeks ago, and still no action taken. Previous phone messages left to Laurie Udell were not returned, either. I am starting to regret that i opened an account, here ! It's very disrespectful to not return a clients phone calls ! Their customer service call center is just horrible, as well. Phone lines typically go dead and you can't hear the call center rep due to a muffled or staticky phone connection. Unofrtunately, many of HSBC's competitors are no better when it comes to customer service.
