no food...no live bands. just a juke & a 60ish waitress.if you are into depression era nostolga, this place comes highly recomended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Empress Hotel is best Hastings has to offer. They have tea time and really help out tourists. The Hotel Empress is worthy of a stars just based on the street level clientele. Anything anyone needs is just a pay phone call away. Artworks on walls may or may not be bullet holes and blood-stains (you know how artists are;). Well worth a sleep or way longer if ever need want to warm up at the Empress Hotel.
I think Victoria should have an Empress over there too. If it’s good enough for royalty on Hastings then its good enough for you!
