Horizon Heating Ltd. - Calgary

Sadly, my furnace suddenly died a few weeks ago. I am “that person” who does her diligence, gets 3 quotes and reads reviews. I ended up choosing Horizon Heating to do the job and I’m so happy I did! They were professional from the first phone call to delivery and installation – each point of contact was knowledgeable and professional. Perry (who did the estimate) not only had years of on-the-job experience, but has also taught at SAIT – talk about expert! He explained what had happened to my furnace, what the manufacturer would cover in rebate, my choice to repair or replace (my furnace is 20 years old) and once I made the decision, he helped me to decide which new furnace would be the best choice for my home. There was no push or upselling involved and I felt very comfortable with my decision. He was so helpful and knew his stuff inside and out. Once I accepted the quote, Jay called right away to schedule my installation. He answered all my questions, worked around my schedule, and explained the process. I called on the morning of my installation to see if we could back the arrival time up (I overslept & needed to walk my dog), and Mathew picked up on the 2nd ring. It was 7:30 in the morning and I expected an automated greeting. Nope – I got an actual human being and not a digital voice explaining my button pushing options! Brian and Jhun did the installation. They were prompt and courteous. Not only skilled at their trade, but well spoken and polite. They even fixed something on my hot water tank that wasn’t included in the quote! At no extra charge ? AND they cleaned up the job site meticulously when they were finished. I will be using Horizon from now on. As a homeowner, I trust that the job will be done fast, done right, and priced fairly. Horizon Heating is now my go-to company for anything furnace, hot water heater or A/C related. LOVE these guys!!!

Over promises and under delivers!!! Gas lines not installed as agreed. Provides quotes which leaves wiggle room (to not do the work e.g. not to do connections of water lines as part of commissioning and setup of Rinnai Tkless Wtr Htr!!!) to unsuspecting home owners who don't know the work (and trusts the company for doing the right thing). When pointed out, refused installation and commissioning of Rinnai Tankless Water Heating System. Technicians who came to work are extremely arrogant. Disappointed!!! And they cost a lot than the competition as I found out the hard way.

Great customer service on the phone from Deana. She arranged to get a tech out the same day, and the tech did a great job repairing my broken furnace on the initial visit by supplying and installing a $50 part that he had with him.

We just had Horizon replace our furnace and water heater, and were very impressed with them. They arrived right on time, worked efficiently, did a great job, and cleaned everything up perfectly. We've been using Horizon exclusively for 15 years, and have always been happy with them.

Very disappointed with the service. The technician came to complete the repair without proper parts. 5 minutes after he arrived, he told me that he doesn't have a part with him and that he had to go back and get the part from the shop. They wanted to charge me an additional $150 for him to go and bring the part that he has to replace! I refused to pay. My furnace is not repaired. In the end, I paid $275.00 for a technician to come to my place for 5 minutes and tell me that he doesn't have the correct part with him! Very easy money for the Horizon Heating. I will never recommend the Horizon Heating to anyone.

Our furnace died at 2pm on a Friday. I called 3 places and all of them were "We can get there Monday". Horizon said they could get there today, but it will probably be after hours which is an extra charge. I decided to go with them anyways, and so glad I did. I immediately got a text with a picture of the tech who was coming, he showed up early (and before the after-hours surcharge kicked in), he had it up and running again in 20 minutes, and they came in under their estimate. Great experience start to finish, and I will definitely use them again!

We just had our furnace replaced by the fine, talented, efficient and personable technicians from Horizon Heating. They were nothing short of professional and explained all things related to the install. They came on time, cleaned up exceptionally well, and did a couple of things that were not on the installation order to tidy things up and make it look better than new in our furnace room. Thanks to Brian and Jordan for their great installation, and the Matthew Kramer and his fine company for taking care of the client above and beyond what is called for.

We just had two new furnaces installed and we couldn't be happier. The Horizon team consisting of the estimator, scheduler, installers and president of this family business were all involved. Thank you to Brian and his team who arrived at 8:30 am and had the two furnaces going by 3:30 pm. The were professional, skilled and went beyond the scope of the quote by installing new make-up air ducting and repair botched jobs of the past. All this done at no extra charge and the cost was competitive with another reputable company in Calgary. We recommend Horizon Heating if you are installing a furnace in your home. Gord & Deb
