Hong Shing is hands down the best Chinese food in the city. I have been eating there for over 20 years. I used to go there after work when I was bouncing. I will travel from Pickering to downtown just for takeout. My usually order is to long to list but two of my favourites are General Tao's chicken and deep fried spicy shrimp. The portions are a good size as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food. Love the new decor as well.

The quantity of food here is crazy. Had to get one entire meal packed because my husband and I could just finish one. Loved the shanghai beef noodles! Will be back

The ginger beef and the noodles are my fav. The chili chicken was a bit of a letdown, and the fried rice and sweet sour pork were just average.

Delicious Chinese food ! Service is fast and very friendly. But recently has been TARGETED BY FAKE REVIEWERS with weird names . My friends and I had been buying good food at Hong Shing for 3 years now. You should try the food and see how good it is specially how friendly all their staff. The place is also clean and relaxing.

We got their lunar new year menu and it was a good amount of food for 4 people. Highlights were the shrimp crab claw which was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the fried rice which was well done. The veggies and fish were average. The disappointments were the lobster which was very overcooked that the meat was dry and the shell was brittle and the beef which was not seasoned well and very greasy.

Walked into the restaurant expecting a totally authentic-asian setting, but was taken back by how modern and stylish it was. Friendly staffs, clean environment, good food, nice vibes. The supreme fried rice was very good, but the chicken was a typical.

We ordered for delivery on Chinese New Year. We ordered the roasted pork which was really disappointing. Not sure if it was a bad batch but it was really fatty and greasy. The skin was not even crispy but as you bit into it, you could feel the grease leaking through your teeth. Not very enjoyable. However, if you broil it high in the oven the next day, it's good cause you melt the fat away. I will not order the roasted pork from there though. You can see the fat that layered up on the bottom on the next day from the picture. The typhoon style lobster, however, was very good and we enjoyed it a lot. There were a lot of crispy garlic. Yummy ! Not sure if it was a Lunar New Year special or if they have it on their regular menu. Would order the lobster again. We also had ginger scallion sauce on the side for the pork which was good. It was nice to get a red envelope.

Ordered this for a late lunch on a weekday. The tofu was amazing and had a great texture and spice. It helped compliment the noodles better as the vegetables and broth lacked spice. The quality was still very good and the only issue might have been the price. It was around $30 which I think is a little high especially for lunch. Would definitely come back and try more popular menu items.
