2 things are offered here, Gyudon & Curry. I'm not sure if this curry is supposed to imitate Kanazawa curry? It's good but not perfect. I also wonder how you can burn cheese without melting it ?!

I was so hungry I almost didn't take a picture, and with how good it tasted I wouldn't have regretted digging in. It's the best katsu curry I've ever had, and the portions are good in size with plenty of rice (even my favourite katsu place serves with a tiny amount of rice for their portion size). Filling and good value. I'm glad to see a Scarborough location on their site. Was just in the area for a court summon downtown, and was glad to get this discovery in exchange. Happy to know I can get some close to home. Would recommend this location too tho, cozy.

Good chicken katsu curry with subtle sour and sweet notes, and crunchy and juicy katsu. Accomodating and responsive staff. Great Japanese music selection, contributing to a nice ambiance.

Surprisingly good casual japanese comfort food! I enjoyed both the curry fried chicken rice and the gyudon (beef rice). I would say it's a bit pricey for casual food though (~$15pp)

After 2 years, I had finally came back to one of my top eats in Toronto near the Ryerson campus. I'd always go here with friends and classmates since Gyugyuya is a decently priced meal. The deep fried mackerel, beef/cheese combo and tonkatsu are well made. The meal is portioned well, you can even have leftovers afterwards. The staff there on duty always had my water cup full at all times - really appreciate that gesture. Love to come by again on a more regular basis - thanks Gyugyuya!

Delicious Japanese curry for a comfortable location near Yonge & Dundas. For those that have been to Japan, it reminds me of Yoshinoya (fast food beef bowls). It's decent Japanese Beef on Rice but with Curry as the staple option to try! Recommended if you're looking for a quick Japanese eating experience. You can also order it with different alternatives like chicken or seafood, with curry or not. Lots to choose from in the menu. The food is pretty fast and the quantity is pretty huge. They all generally come with a salad. We've had the Gyu Curry (Egg, Beef, Curry with Rice) and Oyako Don (Chicken mixed with Egg on Rice with some sauce in the rice as well). They were all pretty tasty and decent sizes! The service was pretty good - appreciated the recording of 1 member of the table on the same paper of our manual writing of the order. They do a good job with the single serve chopsticks and spoons to maintain sanitization. Cashless payment available and very quick to cash out! Unfortunately when we went on a Saturday, the bathroom was out of order. (Tip: Closest location pending on what time would be Eaton Centre or 10 Dundas Street East food court.)

This was my first experience with Japanese curry. The appearance of the Japanese curry reminded me of KFC gravy. I enjoyed the meal. The metal bowl for the main meal and metal plate for calamari were a different experience, too. First time that I saw a can of Arizona Green Tea being offerred at a restaurant. All in all, the vibe is a Japanese fast food restaurant. I will be back to try other dishes.

This was my first time dining in at Gyugyuya Japanese Restaurant, and it turned to a very good experience, indeed. First of all, it has a nice decoration with yellow color. Second of all, the Japanese music, which was playing, was very good, as it makes you feel more connected with the atmosphere. The staff are very polite, kind and friendly. I ordered the Ton Katsu Curry which is my favorite dish and I have tried it in many places. The food looks well, although I didn’t like the plate. The portion of pork, rice and curry was very good. And most importantly, the taste of the food was very delicious. It wasn’t the best Katsu Curry I have ever had, but it was something that I would come back for. I will further write a review if I visited the restaurant again.
