I can't say enough good things about the care and compassion from Home Instead Kelowna! The caregivers have become such an important part of our aging parents' lives, not only in the day to day way they give them choices and treat them with dignity, but most importantly in the relationships that have evolved. I highly recommend this company!!

My Dad is in his 80's, is blind and recently lost his wife to cancer. We first looked for a Nurse/Companion for Dad when Mom was in the Hospital then Hospice and Dad was still living alone with deteriorating vision. Home instead took the time to find the right fit for someone to work with Dad in relation to his needs. They met us where we were at as a Family remaining flexible and communicating well as things got going. Dad has worked with his caregiver now for almost a year and they have developed a good working relationship. Dad looks forward to the visits and his needs are met. We have 2 busy teenage kids and both parents work so the ability of the worker to fit in with the family has been great. Dad only sees his caregiver 6 hours a week but this can increase and is flexible if we are away or if there are special events. It might seem like a big expense but the value in the positive caring relationship provided is immense.

I started to work for Home Instead Senior Care in May of this year. It has been a very rewarding experience. I enjoy working for the company because: - I am helping seniors stay in their homes when otherwise they would have to be in an institution. I would like to have this kind of care when my time comes. - I can name my own hours for work. I can choose to work a minimum of 15 hours per week or more when there is work - and there always seems to be a great need. - All the staff at Home Instead Senior Care are very kind and encouraging. There is staff available for me to talk to 24/7 if I have any problems or concerns. It is comforting to know that I don't have to make decisions alone; there is someone on staff who has much more experience who can assist me. - I can take time off whenever I want. I give the office 2 weeks notice and they arrange coverage for my clients. I just had a 5 day vacation and am looking forward to another 4 day vacation in a week. - I am assigned to one or two clients on a regular basis so I get to know each person on a more personal basis. When my time comes to be a recipient of Home Instead Senior Care services, I will appreciate the following: - My medications are administered on a timely basis. I won't have to worry about remembering to take them at the right time. - I can choose what I would like my Caregivers to do for me. They will do light housework, make meals, shop, , take me to appointments, out for a meal or just sit and chat with me if I need some company. - I get to know my Caregivers because the same people are assigned to me on a regular basis. - I know I can trust my Caregivers because they are approved by Home Instead Senior Care and given appropriate training. - If I have any problems or concerns, I can call Home Instead Senior Care and discuss them with someone in authority to help me resolve them.

My relationship with this company started when I hired them to help the senior in my life in his last couple of very difficult years. I was so impressed by the entire team that I left my sales career of 20 years to come work for Home Instead Senior Care. BEST life decision I have EVER made! The owners, office support staff and the care givers are real people who truly care for the elders in our communities. Everyone I work with is genuine and always go above and beyond in every aspect of client care. If you need a some help around the house, a little break or full time complex care, don't waste your time and money researching your options - just call us, we are here for you and your loved one 24/7.

Home Instead's Office Staff and especially their Caregivers have been amazing at caring for our parents. Our Parents, in their 80's, are still living at home and thanks to Home Instead have been able to continue staying there even after our Mother's health took a turn for the worse. The last place we want to see them go was a Care Home especially during this pandemic so we will be forever grateful to Home Instead for stepping in and helping care for them. They can adjust schedules to our ever changing needs and have never hesitated to help even with extremely short notice. Our parent's have improved due to the companionship and socialization with the gentle, caring and respectful Staff. Belmont, Dorothy and Isabel are very special and have become part of the Family, Thank you Home Instead

Currently work with Home Instead and couldn’t be happier with the team I work with. Management is absolutely amazing - really your biggest support system. We truly care for our seniors in the community and are always striving to go above and beyond. Everyone at the office is so genuine and kind and going the extra mile insuring the safety and comfort for your loved ones. I had a tour of the facility on Jan 28th. Very impressive operation. The office has the vibe of collaboration and commitment to doing a good job. Easy to see how much they invest in their business and training and recruiting talented, caring people.

I really like the open and honest communication:) There have been hiccups along the way but we are all human. I have really felt supported by this company. I like the fact that they are open to ideas to improve the employee's desire to enhance client care. The ideas are supported where possible and acted on immediately! The staff seem genuinely concerned with my welfare and are a pleasure to interact with. This answer would not be complete without mentioning the well organized and thoughtful training and I always look forward to enjoying the lovely lunches they provide;)
