This hobby shop has so many cool things, it's always on my list to visit when we are in Edmonton. I absolutely love the variety of hobbies that they carry- and their 3D printing filament is great!

The greatest hobby shop in Alberta, and likely North America. The staff are cheerful and knowledgeable on every aspect of the products they sell. I will certainly be returning for all my plastic model needs, or just to look around at all the cool stuff in store!

Ian is a rockstar. He is very knowledgeable and just such a great guy. I have two rc cars, one nitro and one battery, and he helped me with the two. He told me which parts I will need to fix the issues, but never pushed any sales tactics...I ended up buying anyways. We had to order some parts (shafts) but just amazing experience. Hobby Wholesale has a wide range of products and very competitive pricing. Support local and...? salute to you Ian!

Probably the largest selection and variety of hobby items I've ever seen in one store. From model trains, ships, planes, and cars, to RC cars, aircraft, watercraft, to slot cars and tracks, a huge selection of Lego, Playmobile, puzzles and other childrens toys and games...the list can go on and on. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This is definitely the place to come to for the hobby loving friend or family member.

Good selection. Knowledgeable staff. High prices. Customer complaint procedure needs improvement. I bought an expensive Grand Valley model train layout kit and it was missing one of the important base pieces that has the actual layout plans on it so I had to go out and find and purchase material to substitute for the missing piece in the kit and then guess where to place all the tracks to make it work. It was the last one in stock and I had already built my base supports for this kit so returning it for a refund wasn’t an option for me. I let Hobby Wholesale know and asked if they would be willing to give me an in-store credit to compensate me for the missing pieces and costs to replace but they didn’t seem interested in that. I don’t really understand why as I wasn’t asking for much, just fair compensation for a missing piece. I even showed them a picture of what was missing. On the bright side, I was able to make a visit to The Train Exchange Ltd. in west Edmonton where I found much better prices, excellent service, and a pretty good selection for all I needed. Ended up getting my second locomotive and rolling stock, buildings, and some maintenance items for my layout and saved a lot of money too! I would recommend you visit The Train Exchange first and if you can’t find what you’re looking for there, then maybe try Hobby Wholesale.

What a fun store to be in. All the employees clearly love their jobs and want to be there. They're not paid off commission so there's no sales pressure shenanigans. After sale customer service is above and beyond. If you're buying an RC vehicle there's a good chance you'll be speaking with Ian who is an absolute wizard the man taught me the basics of soldering in about fifteen seconds flat and has never hesitated to help me out or give me advice with any little maintenance or repairs I have questions about regarding my purchases.

Some pretty cool items here. I purchased a 2cycle add on motor for a pedal bike. If you are a little mechanically inclined it's very unique and runs great. I went one step further and fabricated it for my trike and tour around with my 4 leg best friend in the basket.
