Gateway Power Sports - Edmonton

I work in the customer service industry and have very high expectations when it comes to customer relations. Edi made me feel totally at ease from the moment I walked in the door. I knew pretty much nothing in regards to electric bikes and he was extremely friendly, helpful and informative. It is becoming increasingly hard to find this level of "bow tie" service in this day and age but this gentleman delivers that with a nice big friendly smile. I was completely confident in decision to purchase my bike from him and will sing his praises to everyone I know. Thank you very kindly Edi. I'll buy my wife's bike next year:)

My husband and I purchased an escooter from here. The staff were helpful, polite and knowledgeable. We love shopping local especially when the staff are so educated on their products.

I sent in a quad to get it inspected and checked and had to call every single day to get updates on it because nobody would call to let me know anything on it. I was pretty much yelled at by one of the workers there saying why didn’t you tell us whats wrong with it….I paid to have it looked at by ur shop, thats your job to find out the issues and let me know! When they did look at it i was told my brakes were seized and needed an oil change thats it. They did over $500 worth of work without even letting me know how much the estimate was. My 4x4 on my quad was working fine when i sent it and when i picked it up and found out it doesn’t work anymore! They did an oil change on it but my oil Pressure warning light is on now. I would never go back to this place again, i should of sent it to a place that specializes in these quads

I recently purchased a Surface 604 Colt Electric Bike from Gateway Power Sports. I did my research and knew (mostly) what I was looking for. Now I am short (5’ 2” – with a short inseam), so E-bikes for us little munchkin people are hard to come by. Well, the cool e-bikes anyway. When I called Gateway Power Sports, I was told that Edi was the “man” to speak to about e-bikes. I happen to arrive in the store just as Edi was explaining the Surface 604 Colt to a couple other people; so, I listened in. After they left, he immediately was attentive to me and my inquiries/questions about the bike. He explained many components and features. I did not feel pressured at all into purchasing. I was able to take it for a quick spin (woohoo – how fun!). I did not purchase the bike on that day – after all $3700 is a lot to spend on a bike – so some time was needed to ponder the price tag. Once I decided to make my purchase, I called and emailed with Edi. We exchanged emails back and forth and a couple calls to get the logistics of the payment completed. I found Edi to be very friendly, patient and never once did I feel pressured (like the “pushy” salesmen you sometimes encounter). He let me decide on my own and reassured me this bike would not disappoint. He didn’t try to upsell me on anything or any “add-ons”. Just let me do my thing. Thank you, Edi, this is the type of salesmen I like to deal with. I am happy to report my Surface 604 Colt is awesome! Some minor adjustments to the seat/handlebars (again…short), but it fits me well, the seat is comfortable, and I really like the handle grips. I am patiently waiting for the snow to melt just a little bit more so I can go for…..ever!!!!

Absolutely the best service I have ever seen, the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and kind. My car had broken down by their store and everyone came to give me a hand. It is so amazing to support such amazing people. Thank you so much, you will be getting more business from me in the furture and I will tell everyone about you.

Cam Kendrick is a talent in off road that this city should know. His mechanics work on everything and are skilled beyond imagination. Highly recommend!

When I phoned, Tim was very helpful. When I went there, Edi assisted me. He was very knowledgeable and patient! He showed me the ebike I asked to see and then recommended one he thought would suit me better at a comparable price. I bought it! Thank you!

I purchased the Gio Sport from them. The very first ride I took, the front gear was squealing like crazy after 1/2 hour. When we looked closely the gear was rubbing against the shock. There was no gap at all to allow for heat expansion. When we had taken a closer look the back fender was on crooked which is not good especially when the cord from the battery was inside that fender and was connected to the light. I ended up walking the bike back to my place after one hour ride with very loud squealing. I contacted them and they said to bring it down. They insisted it was a brake issue and the back fender could be fixed. This is my very first ride with the bike. The chain guard was also rubbing against the peddle. I fixed it with a hair blower as it was plastic but I am not sure that would have kept its shape for long. They refused a refund but then said they would accept but there would be a restocking fee. This bike cost me $500.00+ I asked them if they don't inspect the bike before releasing to customer - they said they do. I am very disappointed. As a side note I recommend no one purchase that bike. I have a blister on my thumb as the gear is not very well placed and I have small hands so that should tell you something. The gears should have expansion room for heating and they don't. The fenders have the cords inside the fender rather than outside attached to the frame. If the fenders are crooked you will have a bigger problem. The controls on the left hand side are too far apart. The motor is very spunky but the bike is very noisy. It is a great looking bike but looks are deceiving. No, I don't recommend Gateway and I don't recommend this bike. Very poor design.
