About Hillside Acres Wedding Venue

Seven years ago, Shane and Jody were attending a friend’s wedding at a beautiful venue and Shane leaned over to Jody and said, “we should do this” she replied “you know we’re already married right?” Shane laughed and said “no, the venue” and right there the idea was born. Not much came of the idea, they had big dreams and didn’t know where to start. Fast forward to the summer of 2018 and they shared the idea with Shane’s sister Rikki and her husband James who were even more excited about this idea than they were. They all put their thinking caps on and came up with all sorts of different ideas of what they could do and how but still none of these ideas were going to work for what they had in mind, until they found the property that is Hillside Acres, where it all came together.

We have owned the property since June of 2019 and have worked so hard building the venue to what it is today. We are all so excited to finally to be able to share our beautiful venue with couples.

They have a ton of decor that can be used, a beautiful bridal suite that can accommodate a big party & an absolutely stunning ceremony site. Highly recommend the venue!

Rikki, James, Jody, and Shane made the entire planning process so easy, they are super responsive, and the kindest people. The property is SO beautiful and there is so much included in their wedding package that you barely have to bring anything with you, including signs, decor, tables, chairs, ceremony arches, etc. We had the best day ever. Thank you Hillside family!!!

When we booked our September 2021 wedding at Hillside back in 2019, there was no tent or a lot of the other lovely features that they currently have. But going through the space with Jodie and listening to their vision made us really feel that this was the right place for us. Turns out it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The amazing Hillside Acres team not only met, but exceeded their vision and our expectations of it. We got so many compliments throughout the day on the venue and how great things were. From kids loving the open grassy area and the lawn games, to older folks loving the serene beauty of the space, it was a huge hit. The team at Hillside was easy to work with, available to chat with and flexible enough to work with our needs and make our day perfect. Thank you!

Venue was perfect, ceremony site is perfect, reception tent was amazing with perfect lighting. Bridal suite is gorgeous and the landscaping looks top tier The owners are super gracious hosts and help make our wedding day perfect. We love this place and would recommend them to everyone we know. Owners, Jody, Shane, Rikki & James made sure that our day was perfect! Working with them was an absolute breeze and they were incredibly receptive to all of my questions. The grounds are upkept to perfection, the bridal house was a great treat for me and my bridesmaids the night before the wedding and the proximity to Camrose is great for guests! The amount of love and hard work that has went into building this gem is crystal clear. The extras they include like their many lawn games and heaps of decor are just the cherry on top of their services! Rikki even went to the extra effort of potting some of the succulents from our leftover centrepieces to gift us! Thank you so much, Hillside team, for your hard work and for going above and beyond to make our wedding dreams come true!

We were originally supposed to get married in September of 2020 but due to covid had decided to post pone. The owners of the venue were extremely understanding and a pleasure to work with! I had heard horror stories of other venues not letting couples post pone and refusing to give any money back. The people at hillside acres honestly want the best for their couples and do everything they can to ensure you have the best day possible! The venue is absolutely stunning. We are so lucky we found it and I wouldn't change anything about it. The owners are so friendly and easy going. They answered all my emails and were only a phone call away if we needed anything throughout the day. We would highly recommend hillside acres!

I thought having to replan my wedding was going to be a nightmare, however thanks to the Hillside Acres crew it was quite the opposite. The crew was there to answer all of questions, show me the venue multiple times and also was there for me emotionally. Countless times they reassured me that my day was going to perfect and they weren't wrong. My day was absolutely perfect! From the ceremony infront of the pond with the fountain to the reception under the stars. It was the most beautiful day! I honestly cannot rave about this place enough! If your looking for a wedding venue that is so unique and a crew who truly cares about making your day special, I would suggest Hillside Acres for your big day❤

This is the only instance I am glad COVID 19 happened! Hillside Acres is the most BEAUTIFUL property you could ever imagine. Jody and Rikki are an absolute dream team and so easy to work with. You can tell that they are very proud of their venue (as they should be!). It is evident by all the thoughtful added touches throughout the entire venue. We have had so many guests tell us that our wedding was the best they had ever been to and it was largely due to Hillside. After the ceremony, our guests were able to walk right to the reception space and visit. IT IS SO MUCH BETTER than the usual 4-5 hour break you have to take while the newlyweds go for photos. I am sad I won't be as in touch with Rikki and Jody anymore as they truly make you feel apart of the Hillside family. Thank you for creating such an amazing venue. We were able to have the wedding of our dreams and we have the Hillside team to thank for that!
