F	Frederick Parsons on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location right by the beach. Amazing neighborhood for cute shops and cafes. Washrooms need a little revamp and the showers were not the cleanest. Private room was very clean though. Would still recommend.
S	Srisri ML on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very well maintained, clean and hygienic place. Lot of activities to do and they provide many services. Front desk is there 24 hours and very polite and helpful. Kitchen has got 24 burner stove, 3 sinks, 3 freezer,and storage locker for use by hostliers. There are 3 microwave Owens and couple of small kiosks. They provide new towel everyday. There is TV room and plenty things to play. Had a wonderful time staying there. Down point is that, it's closed during winter or from Oct to Mar.

Given Covid they restricted the shared dorm rooms to 50% capacity, which meant me and my fiance basically had a little private room all to our self! The washrooms were generally clean and in working order (depending on which bathroom you went to). Laundry was cheap! Common areas were generally clean. The kitchen was a typical hostel kitchen - it's as clean as the every that stays there makes it. The area of the hostel is amazing! Really good neighborhood that's close to the beach, walking trails and shops + grocery shops. There's no free parking but all day parking at the time was $13.50 which isn't bad for Vancouver. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Health authorities should visit their men's bathrooms in the summer and see for themselves. Staff would lie about cleaning them. Guests would take photos of same bathroom mess every day for a week. "Non profit". Not recommended. Just sleep on beach for free and then you can go into the hostel to shower anyways considering no one questions anyone who walks in if they stay there. I stayed there and there was a junkie living in car who would shower there. Anyways! Have fun on your visit!
T	Terry Bursey on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You usually know what you’re getting with HI hostels but this is by far the worst one I’ve ever stayed in. The front desk is total chaos but fine, it happens. Worse, the accommodation is totally basic (there aren’t even electrical outlets in the rooms, which are prison barracks). Even the sheets on my bed are stained and have dirt on them. As an added bonus, it’s a nightmare getting here and the area sucks. I’ve always stayed in HI buildings because I thought that the brand stood for some guarantee of quality but not only am I dreading my time here but I can no longer book any HI property with confidence going forward.
