My daughter had the best birthday party at this centre! The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Very friendly staff, and it's handy to have public access washrooms (and showers!) so close to the park.

I like the staff but the reservation policies for the programs are ridiculous. They wouldn't reserve me a spot over the phone and the program was full by the time I drove in. Now to drop in I have to show up 45 minutes early to get a spot. Huge waste of time.

Great easy going staff, the fitness center is a little dated but completely uncrowded. Great safe place to work out.

On 18 April 2015, I was privileged to be one of the participants to the first event of the 2015-2017 Village Vancouver Permaculture Garden Project taking place at Aberthau Mansion. This also happens to be where I spent one of the happiest summers in my life back in 1968, living in what was then a Canadian Forces' officers residence. Nowadays, its gardens, with their micro-system in a world-class urban recreational setting, could offer international visibility and easy accessibility to showcase future permaculture design and demonstration projects for sustainable habitat. While lots of knowledge, questions and answers were shared with and between participants, it turned out a quite unique way for perhaps fifteen of us to apply the techniques while starting to build a hugelkultur and an herb spiral. In the photo herewith explaining the latter in the background is Grant Watson. A BC-based leading expert in permaculture design, Grant (also seen here in close-up wearing sun glasses next to me) was able to convey and lead patiently and succinctly all through the five hours this 'educational work party'. A neophyte of permaculture gardening, I was able to learn the basics through an entertaining workout of both the mind and muscles, therefore for me avoiding what otherwise could have inspired a repetitive technical discourse to vent one's constant political pet peeve. For the anecdotal history buff, I should mention that this new permaculture-inspired garden is located on what used to be among the original single tennis courts on ciment surface in Vancouver." /Michel Bonin

I have gone to play ball hockey at this location on a few occasions . Each time I got there an hour early just to wait in line to put my name on a wait list (seriously?). Then crossed my fingers as to whether I would be able to play. Only after the game started would I know if I would be allowed to play or not. My success rate is 50%. Not worth my time to try again. At the very least the wait list strategy needs improvement or even better, have more ball hockey sessions, give the people what they want.

This is the snobbiest Community Center I've ever visited in all my roaming across Canada. Not allowed to use the showers with out Vaccine passports, then after asking, staff tell me it was okay to sit in the parking lot and quietly use the free wifi, only half an hour later Police showed up, accused me of camping out, and told me to leave the property when I did absolutely nothing wrong!! At least let a guy know he isn't welcome before CALLING POLICE! Just bigoted and double faced staff who do not know what HUMAN RIGHTS or COMMUNITY are.
