★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just opened December, 2018. So very new. Large common room, bright comfy furniture. Big kitchen with new appliances, although no microwave. Noisy fridges. Barbecues on the deck. Solid bunk beds in dorms, duvets on each bed. Linens and towels included. Across the street from red mountain. Public transport a problem.

The staff are amazingly friendly and the place is clean and tidy, especially the kitchen....I am an engineer by trade and struggled to adapt my skills to the operation of the fancy electronic cooktop......I spent a few minutes reminiscing on times gone by when one could simply turn a knob to supply heat to my ramen noodles, during this contemplative time I inadvertently managed to turn on the cooktop and achieved Luke warm noodles. My hunger for powder a comfortable bed and instant noodles were satisfied, I will be back.......

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall, a very nice place: a chance to meet great people, enjoy a sensible, minimalistic setup, and have an (almost) ski-in-ski-out lodging for very little money. Classy customer service (when they could not accommodate me on some nights, they moved me to a 2-bdrm condo next door with a hot tub!). Small improvements (as simple as more hooks for clothes, or tea/coffee in the kitchen) would get it even closer to perfection but it is excellent as-is.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good bunk beds and roomy dorms. Lots of space and storage for gear. Outside covered bbq area for winter and summer is great idea. One thing I’d change / improve is the living/ reception area, as the furniture isn’t fit for purpose . It need more sofas and chairs . Also the interior design is very poor visually. Currently looks like a failed art student who never stayed in a hostel designed the living/reception area. Also I’m guessing not many guest right now as I was one of two people staying and it looks like the cleaning of bathrooms in reception area had been let go abit. Almost like they had lots of people in on the weekend but hadn’t got around to cleaning yet. Obviously in a busy hostel that is done daily. But room was clean and so was the shower and toilet of the room.
