Check out (returning car) not so nice.
The two guys in the garage (1 car washer, 1 jockey). The jockey decides to disappear in our arrival saving heโll be back. 10min later. No guy. We leave the garage and go to the desk. Thereโs our guy. Decides to now go grab kilometres. Desk radio silence. Ahh so are we in the 21st century? Have you been to modern car rentals? You simply walk away upon return. We i ask can i just leave? Heโs like sure if donโt want a receipt. Thank you very much, weโre in a bit of a rush to the airport so we leave (not to mention you cannot drop off the vehicle at the airport- another first). Well done hertz. You severely lack customer service in the modern age.

โ โ โ โ โ Great way to see BC! Awesome and quick service. Steven (manager?) is super helpful and friendly. Other staff are also quick, and accommodating for small requests like type of car / or BC licence plate only. Overall super smooth experience.

Specifically, I want to recognize Aly for making me feel welcomed and upgrading my car from a regular sedan to the luxuries SUV as of curtesy, and Jaz for her friendly conversation (I apologize in advance if I misspelled your names). You guys were forthcoming, fast, and friendly - great team, excellent service! I'll definitely come back when I need a ride!

โ โ โ โ โ Very friendly and helpful staf. We rented a Dodge for 2 months and did not experience any problems. Returning the car went very quick and smoothly
If you bring the car back, you have to go to the back alley. We did not know this and you cannot park in front so this was a bit complicated.
However, I would certainly recommend this Hertz location.

I paid for gas upfront so when I return the car I don't have to worry about refilling the gas tank. Mistake number one. I requested a compact SUV but they gave me a large Hyundai Santa Fe saying that's all they had in stock. It wouldn't fit in the tiny parking space at the parking garage for the airbnb so I tried to return it then next day. They didn't have anything in stock so I exchanged it for a Mazda CX3 at the Seymour Ave Hertz. The catch was that I had to return it at the point of pickup. When I went to return it at Granville Hertz they wouldn't reimburse me for the gas even though the the Mazda's tank was half the size of the Santa Fe. I had called the day before to ask what time to return the car and the woman looked up my account and said to return it any time before they closed which was at 4pm. They don't have a night drop-off like other places. I returned it at 3pm and got an extra $65 charge on bill for dropping it off an hour late saying that I should have dropped it off at 2pm. I won't make these mistakes again and won't be using Hertz or this office again.
Also- the man at the counter wanted to charge me an extra $13.50 a day for a spouse. Luckily I didn't but joined the gold rewards membership instead so it's free. They don't tell you that. It takes 3 min to join for free online.
