S	Sabrina Gusis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My 72 year old mother waited for 3 hours for her rental at Island Airport last week because their Credit Card Machine wouldn't allow the insert of credit cards. With all the fraud that has been taking place, enhanced features have been put on many cards with purchases over $100 or $200 needing to be inserted with a pin. Yet, Hertz made her wait, let the car offered to her upon arrival go to another customer, call her bank and wait on hold to have the bank approve a swipe of $600.00 because Hertz could offer any other solution to let her get on her way. All after pre paying online. I called and offered to drive down and solve this problem with my business credit card but was told that I could not do that for her. When she finally got her car, it had a 1/4 tank of gas. With leaving the airport and driving east she had to navigate downtown for gas. I seemed one problem after another this time. This was not our first experience with Hertz, it's been many many years, but this was our first terrible, absolutely terrible experience.

I tried 2 different browser and 2 different computers and the site refuses to operate. It keeps freezing and crashing and makes it impossible for me to actually book. Please do yourself a favour and hire somebody to build you a proper website.

Ferry fee $14 late return fee $15.50 even though I returned the car Jan 1st 5:55pm and booked in Expedia to returned by 8pm on the same day) something at Expedia, you get another. Most importantly: Expedia and Hertz make it impossible to speak to a person - unless you come back physically to the place you had the rental, which obviously you’re not going to do specially if you’re an intl traveller. They throw you to robots… and good luck. The car was excellent… but that’s on Dodge.
k	kathleen Kangleon on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awful services, extra hidden fees and no confirmation email, yet still charged us. We had to cancel our trip because of Covid and yet they still charged us. There was no information about cancellation fees in any of their booking systems or emails or terms. Person on the phone was not helpful or knowledgeable at all, was very frustrating to talk to and kept repeating the same 2 things over and over again. Would not recommend this company to anybody.
M	Marcus H!! on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In my 5+ years of renting with Hertz, this has been my absolute WORSE EXPERIENCE by far!! I arrive to the counter after a very long trek through the airport (I use a mobility device) .. an agent there asked me if they could "test my device out for a ride". That to me is unprofessional but it gets better .. I get to the car and there are so many scratches on the thing, which I point out to the agent. On the car, there is no Hertz gold sticker anywhere in sight (pandemic). To top it off, the ferry takes forever and is very cumbersome to get on & off. Management here overcharged me (almost $800) for 2 days and were supposed to adjust it. Each time I call, all I can hear is that they will call me in the next 2 business. Weeks later they have not called as yet. Finally, when I took the car back, one of their agents tried to insight that some of the damage was my fault (The same damage that I pointed out on the SIGNED agreement). Folks, save your money & go somewhere else. I know I wish I did...

All my questions and concerns answered without hesitation, and I hadn't even picked up the vehicle yet. Pick up was a wee bit tricky, being a newby at this location, but google is fantastic with info. This was the only rental company that would rent for that particular one day (pick up and drop off). We came from the east end of the city. Hilary went above and beyond, genuinely. Ensured our needs were met and was very informative. Offered a more suitable vehicle that was gas efficient, comfortable, not to mention, clean, knowing we had a long road ahead of us. Yes, expect to have ferry charges and fees (approx.$35). However, dont opt for the third party, on line insurance (US dollars). It will cost you roughly the same in Canadian. At least from Hertz, you know you're covered. I'm giving this Hertz rental a 5 star because customer service is everything. It can make or break your day and I will say, Hilary, a big thank you for your excellent customer service. It absolutely made for a great start of our day!! Angela T.O

Overall the place has very bad reviews and I had some concerns since this location was the cheapest from Hertz Toronto, but my experience was very smooth. Staff was very nice, everything went very well both when I got and returned the car. They explained very clear all rental details, checked the car together with me also when returned it and invoice was sent immediately (without anything extra).
