About Hemlock Tattoo
Hemlock Tattoo would like to acknowledge our location and role to play within the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes: The Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations), and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. We want to express our deep gratitude for the people of these nations for caring for the land and all the sacrifices they have made in doing so.
We want to acknowledge our privileged position to be operating on this extremely abundant land and to recognize that ALL people residing here are Treaty 7 people. In the spirit of acknowledging this history we want to conduct ourselves in a way that honours the Seven Teachings of the Blackfoot, Cree, and Ojibwe people. These teachings are comprised of courage, honesty, humility, love, respect, truth and wisdom and they perfectly encompass how we wish to operate and share space in Treaty 7 territory.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I received a tattoo from Janeen back in November and I was amazed by both Janeen and the studio! Such a warm and welcoming environment, that made me feel comfortable and at ease the second I walked through the door. All of the staff are amazing and I strongly stand by both the quality of the work I received, and the policies and ethics of the studio itself. My tattoo has healed wonderfully and looks amazing. Definitely will be getting tattooed here again. I cannot recommend Hemlock Tattoo enough!

I felt comfortable at every stage of my tattoo. Taylor does STUNNING colour work and she took the time to get my tattoo right. I highly recommend Hemlock and Taylor!

I've been tattooed by Janeen multiple times and I've always felt taken care of and looked after. The decor in the shop is lovely as well, which adds to the overall positive and comforting vibes!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have spent the last year getting tattoos from Hemlock! Once a month I’ve been in one of their chairs and I have the pleasure of having a full collection of all the artists. I have felt safe and respected with every visit. They all take the time to make sure you’re completely satisfied with tattoo placement and are constantly checking in on your comfort level.
The studio is always clean and well maintained. Atmosphere is ~always~ light.
Honestly I have a hard time going into another shop with the level of care I’ve received at Hemlock. Their studio model should be industry standard!

Geneva (pasture tattoo) was endlessly considerate and attentive throughout the whole process. We had great conversation and she created beautiful art. The studio itself is gorgeous and comforting and the other artists were lovely to interact with as well. Thank you all so much!

I have 9 tattoos, and have sat with with a variety of artists at other shops; but my 2 most recent pieces were done here, by Taylor.
I genuinely doubt I'll ever feel comfortable going to another studio after how well I have been treated here. Your safety and comfort are top priority at Hemlock and the artists will do everything they can to make sure you feel at home. No pressure, no judgement - the only considerations are what is best for you and your body.
If you have ever walked into a tattoo shop and worried about not being "cool" enough to inhabit the space, please consider switching. I can't recommend these amazing, caring women and the work they do highly enough!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everyone here at Hemlock is so awesome. But I mostly work with Taylor. And I just wanted to say she's been such a blessing. I have had life throw every dang curveball at me and she has been nothing but accommodating and patient. I highly recommend this shop. You ladies are such sweet souls and I will continue to use you 8for as long as life let's me haha. (Marlee also has some dope jewelry, I buy her stuff for Christmas gifts every year lol)
