I have addressed with the owner but I wanted to warn others on a platform that perhaps could save people from an unsafe environment. The RMT are amazing. The owner is extremely approachable and professional. The acupuncturist- Dan Hoffman is extremely questionable. I went to him a day ago. First time to see him. Charges $85 for initial visit. Spent about 10 minutes asking questions, he then put in 8 needles in the area of concern and promptly left the room shutting the door without anyway I could contact him (no bell/alarm). I was face down, topless, with needles in my back. He came back about 15-20 minutes later. Asked if I was okay. I informed him my right side hurt a lot. He touched a few of the needles and I stated it felt better. He then left the room again, shutting the door. No way to get ahold of him should I need him. My right side started feeling much worse. He finally came back into the room about 20 minutes later. Turned all of the lights on after I was in darkness for 40-45 minutes. Stated to get up slowly after he took the needles out of my back and left the room again. I could not walk straight afterwards. My headache (which I informed Dan I had at the beginning of the appointment) was a migraine and severe right shoulder/neck pain. My pain in my right shoulder/neck has gotten worse today leading to numbness and that is after getting an hour massage to help alleviate whatever Dan did to me. When the owner spoke to Dan about what I believe was unprofessional conduct, I guess he thought leaving me alone in the room for 90% of the appointment while getting paid $85 for 50 minutes β€” is appropriate and β€œis what he was taught”. Why would a individual leave the room with a new client, closing the door, without any way for me to contact him while he is distracted doing other things outside of the room? Why is that acceptable standards or why would Dan feel that is professional? Why should you get paid for that? I know… he doesn’t even have a college therefore he is NOT a licensed professional. He has an association related to acupuncture in SK. Unlike Alberta, acupuncture in SK is currently NOT a regulated profession (I didn’t know this…). Therefore he does NOT have to adhere to the health professions act (HPA) as REGISTERED professionals do … that can be reported for unprofessional conduct (because they have a college). I do not believe that is safe β€” how can someone call themselves a β€œDr”, be able to insert needles into a human being, and not even be registered to a college?? My god. UNSAFE 101. I am now sitting in extreme constant shooting pain to my right side (neck/shoulder area) with slight numbness, all occurring after seeing Dan Hoffman. I am so upset right now. Not fair at all. UPDATE ** β€”> Dan Hoffman called me two days later post treatment after I called and complained to the owner and wrote the above review. I told the owner I did NOT want to speak to Dan, but I guess that’s not what Dan wanted. I recorded Dan stating how other colleagues (acupuncturists) within Regina β€œdo the same thing” … leaving clients alone in a room with needles in them. Trying to gaslight me/the situation. I’ll be publishing this as his colleagues should know how he named them and threw them under the bus during this conversation to save face. I will update this again when I publish the conversation. I am waiting for the association of acupunctures of SK to call me back as that is the ONLY recourse I have to complain β€” but again, as there is NO college he does not have to adhere to the HPA. He is NOT a regulated health professional. Should not be allowed to call himself a β€œDR”. Complete bulls**t.

Shalla has been my massage therapist for the past 5 years. There is honestly no one better in Saskatchewan. She is extremely knowledgable and experienced and an amazing person too. When celebrities come into Regina, they ask for Shalla. Honestly, the best...

Shalla is excellent. She assesses any issues or problem areas and then treats appropriately. She is knowledgable and experienced. The clinic is clean, quiet and inviting. I leave feeling relaxed and in much better condition.

I am immunocompromised and have a young son who cannot be vaccinated, so I was very nervous to start getting massages again last spring. I booked with Linaea, and emailed to explain my situation and ask if she was vaccinated. She emailed back right away to confirm that she was and explained the center’s COVID protocols. Since then I’ve been getting regular massages, and feel very confident about the protocols in place. In the summer when the mask mandate was rescinded the center kept masking in place, which allowed me to continue treatment. I’m happy to hear masks will be required in 2022 as well. Linaea is also a wonderful massage therapist! If you are concerned about COVID don’t hesitate to book an appointment.

I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about this place. Dan is a miracle worker, and has helped me multiple times with my neck and during my last pregnancy. I have tried everything for relief prior to coming and he has been the only one able to help with my issues. I highly recommend him and the rest of the staff to everyone!

I had a fanatic first experience. Beautiful clean place. Friendly staff. Linaea is super nice, makes you feel very comfortable and we shared a few laughs throughout. Highly recommend her as she is the only one I’ve seen. Looking forward to my next 2-3 months of already booked appointments.

I have had my fair share of massages in the past few years and nobody really stood out. That is, until I had Kayla as a therapist! She was very friendly and strong enough to get the job done. I left the clinic feeling a major relief in my back and legs. I will certainly be returning here for future appointments. Thanks again Healthy Roots!

Awesome place and awesome people! Have relied on Healthy Roots for all my massage and acupuncture needs for many years now. Even during the pandemic and to this day, they have taken a considerable amount of precautions to look out for the safety and wellbeing of both clients and staff. This brings me ease and comfort as I have reduced contact in order to protect people within my close bubble like family, friends, and colleagues and always feel precautions are being taken to minimize risks as much as we are able to given the circumstances.
