About HealthTec Training
Offers basic first aid and care giving skills for youth 11-15 years old (or completed grade 5).
Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families.
COURSE CONTENT
• How to be responsible and demonstrate leadership
• How to make good decisions and manage difficult
behaviours
• Information on children’s developmental stages,
and specific strategies for each stage
• How to feed, diaper, dress, and play with children
and babies
• How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations,
make safe choices and promote safe behaviours
• First aid skills
• The business of babysitting

The class size was small so that added to the appeal for me. Tamara is the greatest instructor, and if you need to take you first aid, I would strongly recommend Health Tec Training.

We all know these courses can bore us, however, Tamara really knows how to make the material enjoyable and is very creative with her props and scenarios. Tamara is also VERY educated and shares her own nursing experiences with you which helps a lot with learning. She is very kind and has such a great sense of humour! No monotone instructor here!!!!

I left the course feeling so confidence to be able to helping a person in need. Tamara is an amazing instructor, she goes in to detail when explaining the information. I have done numerous courses (CPR, First Aid, BLS) with her, and recommend her highly to family and friends. With Tamara, the time flies and you don't realize you are learning until you get to put into practice what you've learned (writing the test/ practical component)!
