Hazeldean Daycare

Well - I took all three complaints into consideration, sadly I have to agree with the majority. I met with one owner (Irna I think) and spoke with the other, they did seem to have that holier than tho persona. They discussed previous clients.... parents whose children previously went there-believing they were the ones that wrote these reviews- they discussed personal issues involving the children of these parents. And there are some serious complaints against the daycare with licensing as reported. As nice as the staff is and as good as the food smelt that day .....I would not want to deal with those ladies! Oh - they also own Mount pleasant....which they didnt tell me I found out on my own when calling around. Too bad the rooms were bright and the rest of the staff was very nice!

Wow, how bizarre. These two folks must have been at a different daycare! Both my kids go this daycare and we have had great experiences. Yes, the owners are a bit high and mighty, and by the way they are Romainian, not "polish or russian". However, the staff are lovely. They sincerely care about the children, and enjoy spending time with them. It is a safe and loving environment. The owners invest time and money to add special activities (music lessons, field trips, etc), that are above and beyond what is required of them. And they have the most wonderful cook who prepares meals from scratch daily. No daycare is perfect, but this a darn good one. And yes, please do check...they are accredited.

My 18 month old daughter has been in this daycare for a couple of months and we have been happy with the service we have received in the older infant room! The senior staff there and has been incredibly loving, warm, inviting and accommodating towards my daughter and her needs. There is a minimum ratio of 1:4, but there always 2 staff members and a maximum of 8 children in the room. The food smells great when I go and they have assured me it is all made on site and are all home style meals - my daughter is a picky eater at home and the feedback I get is that she eats really well there. I've gone to pick up my daughter at different times during the day and whether she's outdoors or indoors she seems to be happy and safe. She adjusted very quickly to the new environment and I give full credit to the staff there! The admins (2 women) seemed really nice to me, too. They could be a little more professional with some of their paperwork (when I dropped off my deposit I did not get a receipt or anything and remember my name & number was written on a little piece of paper which made me a little nervous but they did hold our spot and everything turned out fine) but no place is perfect and I did not come across anything that was poorly done (from what I've seen anyway!) I do wish they had a website where they posted pictures and updates (private access to parents), but I get most of my feedback from the staff in my daughter's room anyway and they give me a daily report of how she did for the day when I pick her up (verbal, nothing written). I also wish they gave the parents a weekly menu of the meals they eat, I haven't asked for one so maybe I should! The place itself is an older building but clean and the rooms have lots of natural light and kept tidy (again, I've dropped in at different times during the day). My daughter's been happy there and safe.
