Hanni's Restaurant - Calgary

I see a lot of reviews that say this is the best pizza every which is why I tried if over the weekend. Yes its better then pizza hut or pizza 73, but I would not give it the title of best pizza every. It’s a good pizza, but unfortunately there was a lot of almost brunt oregano top of my Hannie’s Pizza which didn’t help the flavor. The Garden Pizza I thought tasted way better and would be the one I would recommend if you want to try here. I didn’t dine in so I cant speak to atmosphere or wait staff. But over the phone they were really friendly and helpful. May try again and edit the review at a later date

I loved this place's pizza! I ordered a Chef's Special Pizza, with no extra specifications, and it was so worth the money. Not too much sauce, lots of cheese, and crispy crust. The staff and atmosphere seemed really welcoming as well, although I couldn't eat in this time

As some who lives in the neighborhood, I really wanted to like Hanni's. There aren't many good options for pasta in the area, so our hopes were high. The servers were warm and cheerful when we were welcomed at the front. The service, in general, was pretty good. My friend and I ordered a pasta each, and both experienced the same thing; the pasta noodles were over cooked while the sauce was under seasoned and too runny. While the portions were a perfect size for both of us, we felt that the quality could be improved upon. I have had a few people mention that Hanni's pizza is quite good; maybe we will order that the next time we visit.

Food - hearty, delicious, dishes are put together very well, the Chef hasn't lost his love for his profession! Portions are on the larger size, even the small sizes, when compared to other restaurants! Staff - Simple honesty on my opinion the staff are among the best I have had the privilege to be served by when compared to any other restaurant/bar that I have been served by/at. Right from the start as my group was being seated the staff was very friendly. They even used a sanitizer wipe to wipe down a Hand Sanitizer Pump that was provided to our tables use for our entire stay. Very knowledgeable when it came to the restaurants Menu. Was able to help each member of my group (4 individuals) find a meal suitable to each of our owns preferred preferences. And one of my group was a little more intoxicated than intended by the time we arrived at the restaurant, and was unfortunately was acting like it too. In my opinion a situation that easily could have seen us refused service and be asked to leave was handled by the staff in an above and beyond manner. They kept a potentially volatile situation to nothing more than a minor inconvenience, if even that. They knew the individual who was intoxicated from years of past visits and therefore knew how he can be, and they were able to use their skills as a server and the knowledge from past dealings to see the situation kept cool and upbeat, all be it a little louder than needed, but hey. Price - when taking portion sizes into account, the prices are on the cheaper end of the scale compared to the variety of other restaurants! Whether your searching for a place to go for either Lunch or Dinner, whether alone or with guests, Hanni's is definitely a place I'll be recommending to Family, Friends, and the residents at my apartment building too!

Excellent pizza and customer service. Been a local favorite in my neighbourhood all my life. Changed owners in recent years but quality of food has stayed very much the same in a very good way. Will always recommend Hanni's

Love the homemade Pizza, fresh ingredients. Staffs are very friendly. Will come more often, good to be back in restaurant :)

Nice place and friendly attentive waitresses checking that I was good. Bruschetta was great - fresh and flavourful, with toasty warm bread and a nice balsamic reduction on top. Unfortunately, they were out of both the steak and the ribs that I wanted to try, but the pasta was nice and cheesy. A better beer selection would be nice, given the incredible offerings Calgary's breweries have, but they're a small family restaurant and not a brew pub, so won't expect much there. But good food and good staff are what matter - I hope that the new owners will keep up the quality I experienced there.

BEST pizza in the city!! The toppings are so generous, fresh, and delicious tasting! I eat a lot, and a medium fills me up! I would highly recommend everyone order the cheesy bread as an add on because it is so delicious, you will be so glad you did! By far the best pizza in the city! And how could I forget the lasagna! Correction, I can’t! The lasagna is also a must have at some point! Incredible ongoing deal ordering two! My favourite toppings include: salami, chicken, green peppers, feta, ground beef (mixes with the sauce under the cheese - YUMMY)
