★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beach is nice, pretty much always clean and tidy. Parking can be limited in the heat of the summer. Washrooms are dated, but functional and usually kept clean. The kids' playground is always a draw, as is the trail around the lake (about 6 mi./10km, fairly smooth grade of gravel and dirt, so plan accordingly). I think there is a huge missed opportunity of having more amenities for food sales, attractions etc.
Just a personal opinion as it is always a balance between over commercializing such a nice location, and generating revenue for upkeep, enhancements and reduced taxes (hint) and providing some helpful services for people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to swim, float/paddle on stuff, snorkel, suntan, picnic, etc No dogs allowed in summer til Sep. 15. Lots of young kids but easy-going. A few thong bikinis which everyone seems cool with so no need to be too shy. Playground area is getting a major upgrade right now (summer 2021) so the playground won't be open til fall. Park is open sunrise to sunset so don't leave your car behind the gates overnight.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great beach for family and great access to the water for paddle boards, we have a lot of demand for paddle board rentals in this beach. Can get windy and sometimes busy with motor boats creating challenging waves for paddle boarders. Otherwise great for picnic for big groups and events

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved that there were plenty of people fishing although the temperature dipped a bit. Some people were getting their boats into the water to fish and relax. Didn't realize how big the place was till we walked around. Great views at sunset and great for dog walking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place quiet beach. Few people swimming, water was warm, some people were picnic-ing... Nice big space for large group of people, or for kids to run around. I didn't see any playground for the kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So much to see and do! Swimming in the summer, 10k trail around the lake, brand new playground, benches, picnic tables, handicap parking, port a potty right now. In the process of building new washrooms. Plenty of parking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They just updated the playground with natural wood structures, slides, tunnels, and hills. They have porta potties but I’m sure that’s being updated as well. No fence around playground. Picnic tables, parking, water access, & hiking trail- there.
