It certainly wasn't fresh, it was the thinnest rectangle of food imaginable with a translucent film of batter. This clearly came out of the freezer aisle from Costco across the street. Shame, I remember this place being pretty good before Covid. Looks like they've given up.

I love The Thistle, and you get a good portion of fries. The fish (haddock) was good with a thin crispy coating. I will go back and do recommend you try this place at least once.
L	Laura on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing fish and chips. Nice thin breading that is crispy and not overwhelming. Great fish nice flavour ! We usually order a two piece with and extra piece of fish on the side and one order of fries and it is enough for 3 adults ! Great position sizes !

We always go for the Halibut. The batter is delicious - light and crispy, not thick and full of grease. The fries are hand cut with nothing added to them - a bonus for me because I like to lightly salt them at home and pair with ketchup. The man in charge of facilitating take-out orders (on the phone and upon pickup) couldn’t have been more kind. They are doing a great job. 5 stars!

Last Friday was the first time my family has dined in and it was a great experience. We had the haddock and chips, the fish was very light and crispy. This is our go to for fish and chips in the area!
