β β β β β Karl Charges sky high price and is average at best and also has zero manner or customer service. Initially I went for consultation and got a quote for cut, colour & highlights for $230 after all I decided to have my hair cut in my usual salon and went to see Karl for only colour and highlights wich he end up charging me $250... I was very surprised because didn't have hair cut and I paid even more than what he initially told me . The highlights was very uneven, chunky in some areas and different tone and colour. Called him to go talk and give him my feed back as I wasn't really happy and maybe he cloud fix it . He got so mad, angry and start raising his voice that he is very proud of his work and there is nothing he could do and blaming me for my curly hair and because I blow dried it. I haven't been treated that bad by anyone in a long time. Don't go here unless you want to pay more and get treated poorly if you have any concerns.

β β β β β Maybe a good place for the basics but I donβt recommend it for what I had done (a pixie cut). It was really bad and nothing like what I asked for. Also be prepared for a no frills experience with a frills price. Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 as they had good covid protocol in place.

β β β β β My quest has ended. Over the past year Iβve tried four places in NorthVan - they were either too expensive or there was too much attitude.
Maybe some people need/want complicated haircuts and an βexperienceβ - like a special drink or some hair massage. I just want a trim.
Karl, the owner, listened to what I wanted then did that. For 15 minutes we chatted about current events and nothing in particular. Then he held a mirror up to show me the back and said, βHowβs that?β. Done. He charged under forty bucks and I tipped accordingly.
I canβt find it on Google maps and there is no website. Itβs like a speakeasy for regular boring haircuts. And maybe thatβs a good thing.
