HORRIBLE SALON, HORRIBLE SERVICES, DESPICABLE TREATMENT BY THE OWNER, DIANE Not happy reasons why: 1. At the beginning I showed her a picture back in July, she quoted me 80.00 for the cut and 2 colours. Waited til Dec to grow it long enough, and let the colour grow out to start from scratch. 2. Appt Thurs, Dec 13, 5pm... No parking!! Had to go back out to move my car. 3. Showed her the picture and discussed darker just at the top part and roots, blond the rest and told her I wanted bright blond around my face. 4. End of the Appt, told her the Colour was not what I asked for or as per the picture provided, her response was 'nothing' said she would redo it, after I had already told her I was going out, I said I didn't have time at this time she said to call her. The colour was an ashy mix of brown all over with the odd blond bit. 5. If she was unsure she should've asked more questions 6. Cut was just so so 7. Styled down around face not swept back per picture 8. Had the nerve to Charged 8.00 additional after knowing not happy... Very cheap move 9. I paid the bill in full and gave her a 20% tip which I shouldn't have!! 10. That I'm put in this uncomfortable position, I now do not trust her to touch my hair again 11. I researched what was appropriate for a hairdresser to do in this situation It is very reasonable to provide a refund 12. I called her on Sat Dec 15, calmly explained I was not happy with my hair and that I would prefer a refund, she said 'I'm very busy ill call you back to discuss', I said I didn't need to discuss it, and that I would be in this afternoon for a refund. She HUNG UP ON ME!!!! 13. I went into the salon at approximately 4pm smiled and said hello waited for her to finish what she was doing, then she came to the desk and said 'I'm too busy right now, you need to make an appointment to come in to discuss' I said I didn't need to come back as their wasn't anything to 'discuss', I just wanted a refund. She DISMISSED ME and walked away. 14. I have been more than agreeable and accomodating to this point 15. I am now very angry I raised my voice and again stressed how unhappy I was and that I wanted a refund. 16. She said you're not answering my question... I said what is your question she said 'it's better than it was isn't it?' I was completely flabbergasted that a hairdresser would respond with that question. 17. I then asked one last time are you going give me a refund... Her response was 'No'. 18. I then said she was a very bad business woman and left the salon. 19. I've now waisted 2 hours in her salon getting my hair BOTCHED, another 1 hour to research how to handle the situation, 10 min to call her to request the refund, 15 mins to drive and park, 10 - 15 mins in the salon again only to be treated like trash, I've now WASTED 3 hours and 40 mins of MY VALUABLE TIME and had $105.00 basically stolen from me!!! BE WARNED - - - DO NOT USE THIS SALON!!! UPDATE: Salon Owner responded to Better Business Complaint and LIED... said that she 'wasn't aware' that I was unhappy!! Why would she offer to redo it if she wasn't aware??? Total Scammer!!!

this is the worst haircut i have ever received. the lady does not listen to anything you have to say and makes it how she wants it and her choice should not be qualified as it is just the easy way out. when i came here i had an open mind to get a haircut and i came out looking like i just had a bowl placed on my head with the worst transitions possible. Don't come here you'll regret it.

The lovely ladies here remember me and my mum every time we come by- even when we haven't been there for years as professional haircuts are a luxury for us and the duty generally falls to me for the family.. they still remember both of our names and treat us like long time friends. This is a business that I wish I could support more be because they are truly wonderful people.

Diane - Character reference/work ethic/ quality control When I read Laurie Graham's post about her experience at New Wave with Diane, I felt compelled to report a very different experience with the same person. I have known Diane for a minimum of 10 years: she has been my primary hairstylist for a decade.I can say I've had 30 POSITIVE appointments with Diane. I have recommended Diane to my friends who have also been pleased with her cut and colour skills. I find Diane to be consistently cheerful and engaged in creating a pleasurable and satisfactory experience for the customer . I would describe her as a well-rounded person, with a smart, efficient business approach.For example, if I ,as a customer, have had to wait awhile,she will often add a little perk, perhaps a special conditioner, a token of thanks for my patience. Her cuts are precise - she has an artistic eye to make suggestions if you desire, and she is also very capable of following the customer's wishes. As a colorist, the odd time I have found waiting a few days will give a better result for streaks, when the colors blend more. Her prices are very reasonable , considering North Shore standards. My sense is Laurie had a rare experience, not a common everyday one, at New Wave. I believe she chose the wrong approach with Diane, a very approachable person.

I have been going to New Wave for several years and am very happy with the results. Diane is a really good stylist and I am always getting compliments about my hair. I highly recommend her services.

Fantastic experience with Nadia (for my eyebrows). She is awesome in her job. Very clean, very friendly and professional. I have been going to her for my eyebrows since 4 years ago and cannot try anywhere else if she goes on a trip.☺️ Would recommend her to friends or family.

I love, love Diane, the owner of New Wave. She has always been so nice, very professional. My hair never looked so good, and the best part is, I can manage the cut and style myself at home.
