★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service from Ken the owner! He was very respectable and kind and patient. I brought my Mazda to get an out of province inspection and he took less than an hour. You could tell he wasn't in the business to screw you over and just wanted to help get things done right and get you on your way. Very good experience, I would recommend Ken and HK Auto to anyone! Passed out-of-province inspection with him, very grateful (no hidden charges- fyi- most of other places will rip you off and find or create a problem in order to charge more money) . I trust Ken and if I need anything will have more business from him. He also gave good and helpful advice on few things about my car and spent time to describe how to avoid problems associated with it. I highly recommend Ken!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ken is one of the most honest mechanic I have ever come across in my whole life. He is very straight forward. I had to get my provincial inspection done and got a quote of around 4k from a different auto shop. They gave me list of unnecessary repairs to pass inspection.
I then took the car to Ken and he saved me around 3.2k just by showing me the exact repairs needed to pass inspection. He even showed me the official BC car inspection guide and lines in it to highlight which repairs were needed.
Coming back here for any and all of my car troubles.

He didn't push anything on us and was great about the inspection. I would definitely take our car back should we need further work.

He was able to book me a same-day appointment, and completed the inspection in a short time frame. The price of the inspection was competitive and fair. I would highly recommend that anyone requiring these services to come here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I brought my 10 year old car here for an Out of Province Inspection based on the internet reviews and the owner's statements in a CBC article from a few years back where he stated that he always tries to be fair to the customer and not upsell them.
It was a great and quick experience (booked and completed on the same day even) and Ken only recommended the repairs that were required to pass the safety inspection without me feeling confused or like I was being taken. He also showed me a few things to look out for in the future as the car's mileage is heading into the 150k range.
I would highly recommend their straight forward service to anyone requiring this inspection. I look forward to using this shop for any issues I have in the future.
