Dropped a Catalic converter to do Wilding repear a day before he sepouse to contact me before and work done I asked home early morning to contact me but he did not until before he close asking ahundered of dollars for a job the not worth more a 30$ and at the end he destroyed my. Catalyic converter and refused to take responsibility the worst michanic Shope in Ottawa don't recommend it. At all.

I had used this shop many years back and was happy with the service I received, so it pains me to write this review. Staff is friendly and pleasant and even worked me in on a tight booking schedule. I brought my car in for a Safety Inspection, at 90,xxx km's. They failed all 4 brake rotors for less than 75% surface contact and 2 tires that has less than 25,xxx km's on them. It's an EV and brakes don't get used heavily with regenerative braking. So I wasn't entirely surprised that the rotors were a little rough given winter salt etc. When I was quoted the work, the rotors seemed rather pricey. Brake pads or service/lubricating all parts was not included either. But they could add the pads for around $40. This was a red flag, since I know the pads are around $100 a pair. It also made no sense how 2 tires were already at 2/32 to fail the safety when they were 18 months old. I paid the $160 taxes incl. for the safety and was given 10 days to make my own repairs for them to give me the passed safety. I stated I would get the repairs made. I took the the car to a second shop for another opinion. They immediately told me the tires did not fail inspection. They also clarified and personally showed me how 3 of the 4 rotors PASSED without issue and only 1 rotor truly needed replacing. Upon quoting me the work, it was then understood that the price for the rotors was being very inflated. Perhaps it was a hope I'd just say "yeah, go ahead and do it all". Instead of giving Guilbault another penny, I had the work done at another shop, paid for a 2nd safety entirely and bought my own car out from it's own lease to retain the ownership. I saved over $750 doing it like that way, even paying for a 2nd safety. It is unfortunate that a shop that's been in business for nearly 40 years has turned to this method of upselling. I sadly will never be back again.

I can't say enough good things about Guilbault's. They have come to our rescue more than once in the last few months. Amazing service, honest, fast and reliable. Been going there for years.

Went by today to ask if they would have time to put a plug in my tire and the owner was what I found to be somewhat rude. He said to me. . I made a lady wait to get put air into her tires so you can wait as well. . . . . All I wanted to know if they would have time and that was the response where he could have politely said that they would not have time today and maybe the could book an appointment for tomorrow or something, He could have even suggested trying another place, Not that my single comment will make any difference to him, Hopefully others will read this and have a better experience, , , , , BAD BAD Customer service

We went got taken for several rides from active green and ross before we found this gem. Honest! reasonable pricing, fair solutions, never pushy and always a quality job! Really cannot state how great Collin and the guys are, Been a loyal customer for about 8 years and highly recommend. We have, brakes, oil, steering, drivetrain, tires, exhaust work and they always fit us in and if ever anything breaks they honour warranties associated with no fuss. It's small town customer service in the city and I can't recommend them enough.

The customer service at the desk by Chris was amazing! He was very clear with explaining what my check engine light was on for. I got my battery checked and it needed to be replaced. Chris was able to get me a battery quickly and got me in very fast to get it replaced. As a woman some places try to rip you off and I felt he was very upfront and honest with me which I appreciated.I will definitely be going back there when other car issues come up!
